I had my car mapped a few weeks ago then somebody hit my car so it’s been in the body shop for a month. I collected the car today, as I drove off it was very Smokey but I Just put that down to it sitting around only getting short runs in and out the garage each day. I then pulled out on the main road went to put my foot down and heard a massive bang and loads of black smoke with loss of power. Crawled back to the body shop, got the car on the ramp to find the below pipe basically hanging off and the clip snapped as you can see in the below picture

Has anybody heard of this before? Just doesn’t seem normal.... I was thinking now it running more boost and that pipe being thing it can’t handle the extra pressure???

Any ideas please???? Do they do an uprated part or this not normal??

usually blown pipes would of been intercooler corners at the front, i think a member has an audi s3 pancake pipe which is slightly bigger = more air flow. don't quote me on this till i find that thread!

it's very strange that pipe blew in my opinion...

ok pipe all sorted and no problems.......

2 new issues LOL

1) On idle if you lightly rev the engine you get a slight whistle type noise which i have never noticed before!!!

2)Its been mapped but since it had been done it wasnt used as it was involved in a small prang due to a kind german driver!! Driving the car hard through the rev range is sweet with no problems but if you continue to say 110+ the boost then fails and you have no turbo pressue!! Soon as you switch this off then on the turbo is back working sweet and driving great! I can assume its the map what they have used on my car.... but when i called the company they said the VNT could need cleaning which seemed odd to me!!!!!

Any ideas

Again thanks
Dave
