Have a nosey at the falkens compared to the michelins though Dave, they arnt massively different but the michelins have a bigger tyre block with narrower channels, again for grip and longevity.
My rainsports replaced the conti's that came on the VRS Occy, the conti's lasted 11k, in mot expecting the uniroyals to fare as long as they have a more flexible narrower block which will burn off easier with increased heat/friction on cornering.

There's summer and winter tyres.

Winter tyres are much softer as they're designed for less than 6 degrees celsius, IIRC.

Doesn't mean that summer tyres shouldn't be used in the wet.

didn't think that there was that much difference in the actual tyre compound between summer and winter tyres, but mainly how aggressive the thread patter is on winter tyres.

But yeah, summer tyres are designed for both dry AND wet. Its only the road legal trackday tyres that aren't really designed for the wet (such as the Toyo R888)

Yes, I've had Uniroyal rain tyres in the past and have been more than happy with them.

I got shot of the Michelin Pilots a few days ago and stuck some Toyo T1-Rs on.

OMG the feel and handling of the car is transformed. Those Pilots were absolutely appaling.

Ive got Kumho Ecsta tyres and I have to say Im impressed with them. Crezz its the same with the Kumho's, they are classed as a summer tyre but they are impressive in the wet.

Wasn't too happy when I had them.... only reason I used them was because they were the cheapest tyres I could get at the time. Falken 512 were pretty good, they give a strech look to the tyres, ideal if your car is a lowered. Thought they were better than the Kumho's but the Goodyears are what I would recommend shame they being discontinued soon :(
