Mk2 FR Dash Warning Light Help.

Hi All,

I've had a looked around the forum but cant seem to find anything on the below problem (feel free to direct me to the solution link if its already been discussed)

Anyway

Im having an issue with my 56 plate 89k Fr. As im not sure on how to upload a picture 'll do my best to explain below.

After about 5 mins of regular driving from cold im getting 3 warning lights on the dash. They are; 1 - the ABS light, 2 - flat tyre sensor and 3 - the traction light all come on and they all come on at once. I dont notice any difference in perfomace or handling (i.e. tyres are all inflated). If i switch the ignition off briefly and re start thing go back to normal and the lights wont come back up again.

Happened to me, stealers tried getting £1400 off me for new power steering.

I went home, connected my vcds cable and cleared the error. Took it to my normal local garage and he put it up on the ramps had a look and everything was fine. Still driving the car now and no problems what so ever and has flown through mot

I've seen this error on two occasions.

1. Was a loose earth for the ABS control unit, corrosion can also cause a loss of earthing.

2. Was an internal memory fault within the ABS control unit.

Best thing to do - as above. Scan it, erase it and see if it ever re-occurs.

A fault with a sensor or sensor ring can cause issues also but you'd have to get it scanned to confirm.

Usually only flags the ABS and TCS light up though but it's understandable the TPMS is disabled as it's all part of the same system.

Hmmm, so then, wheres the best place to get this vcds cable etc from then? What am i looking at cost wise?

Am new too all of this malarky so need as much advice as possible it would seem. I've had a look on amazon but would want to make sure im getting what i actually need.

Also, had a look on ross tech is there anything i need to make it specific for my car?
