Not a bad car to have for a week as a test drive!

Comparing it with your Revo tuned Cupra, how do you find the performance?

The car looks unusual and decent in matt black. Would look better with black wheels though - like a stealth bomber :D.

Also, I still think they could and should have done something with the front as it just looks a bit awkward and weak compared with the aggressive rear. A little lip spoiler on the bumper or something like they had on the MK1 LCR would have been the biz.

THat looks great!!

Is it lowered, as the front arch gap looks smaller compared to the press car you were in ages ago. Even with the 19'sit looks lower than a standard Cupra.

£425 road tax :wtf:

U've hit the nail on the head here! Why pay that much road tax when you could just get a lesser powered model remap it to the same power as the R and pay a LOT less road tax? It's like pricing yourself out the market which I think they are in danger of doing at a very rapid rate with models like the R!!!!

They really should have done a hot Diesel Cupra on the Mk2! Would have sold like hot cakes! It would have been so easy! Just imagine a 250-280bhp TDI mk2 leon. It would be a superb drive, the tax would still be low and you would still get "reasonable" mpg. Theyve missed a treat!

Slower - as you'd expect. Although I don't have the revised fuel pump. Mid range pickup feels a bit better than mine.

Not lowered as far as I am aware. Std spec. I noticed this morning it looked lower and filled the arches nicely.

It's got 1200 miles on the clock. Maybe it's bedded in better than the press car had? not sure. The press car was the first uk spec literally just off the production line.

Sorry but it's just trying to look like a Focus RS500 with that paint finish. If the Ford RS boys see that, they'll be giving it a good slagging!

Seat need to get their own ideas instead of making look-a-likes!

R32 style tail pipes, Rear diffusers, and now RS500 matt black wrap on the paintwork - ooh dear

Wow - I never thought it could look this great wrapped like this in mat black :)
Glad i've got my R already .
Only thing that annoys me is why we won't get the gloss black diffusor and the twin exhaust over here in Europe? Also the gloss rear covers for the bucket seats [:@] That's one big fat rip off[:@]
But at least the engine is the same hehe.
Does someone got btw. a PDF file of the accessory sheet? I read somewhere that they got the diffusor, twin exhaust and the rear covers listed in there... I would be also thankful for the part numbers, so that I can ask my dealer what this is all about

A local wrapping company offered to wrap the car in that colour. It wasn't SEAT's idea. Just something a bit different and not trying to look like the RS500. No one will be forced to get it wrapped this way. :)

If someone is copying someone it would be Ford. My first Cupra and at least one other Dutch Cupra where early 2008 completely wrapped in Matte Black 3m. Mine had gloss black 19`bbs Ch´s on and the boot showd small, just above the `s` the text eat my dust in gloss black.
Text came from the Coronel wtcc Seat and looked ok for a short while.
Job costed me approx 1400 Euro´s and was perfectly done, unfortunately I have no more pics of the car but guess what I thought when I saw the 500....

This is called showroom tax, which is now applied to all brand new cars. :ban:

Band A (up to 100g/km CO2) no fee
Band B (101-110g/km CO2) no fee
Band C (111-120g/km CO2) no fee
Band D (121-130g/km CO2) no fee
Band E (131-140g/km CO2) £110
Band F (141- 150g/km CO2) £125
Band G (151 to 165g/km CO2) £155
Band H (166 to 175g/km CO2) £250
Band I (176 to 185g/km CO2) £300
Band J (186 to 200g/km CO2) £425
Band K (201 to 225g/km CO2) £550
Band L (226 to 255g/km CO2) £750
Band M (Over 255g/km CO2) £950

This will drop down to £235 on the second year as Zboyd said.

Most dealers include the showroom tax.

Anyway way, can’t wait !!

A weeks test drive…wicked. :snack:

Hey,
no it's not that one, i've already downloaded it but there's only the normal twin exhaust from the seat aerodinamic kit..
I want it from the cupra R,the middle twin exhaust :)
