hi, ordered some bbs for my fr, so thinking of selling my standard alloys, theyre the normal 17" ones, totaly unmarked, without tyres. going to put them on ebay, but there's no other sets for sale at the minute so not sure how much to put them up for?, anyone out there know roughly how much they'd be worth to put on a buy it now listing?

I contemplated selling mine when I got my new aftermarket wheels but decided against it solely because selling it will be a lot harder with the aftermarket wheels on. Aftermarket wheels are pretty much the number one modification devaluer of cars. If you have to sell for money reasons then I suggest £400.

hey, thanks for that knightrider. i might well hang on to them then. just out of interest, why do they devalue the car so much?is it just that boy racer image or what?

Yeah it's pretty much the boy racer look ...just gives the car a look that it could have had some abuse in it's life ... also, because they are aftermarket, they may not be to everyone's tastes, which could mean it's harder to sell on. If it were me, I'd keep the standard wheels to sell on with the car when you say goodbye :D

If you're getting genuine BBS you'll get a lot more for them off the car than leaving them on, come sale time.

Keep the standard wheels and put winters on them would be my advice.

I kept my tyres on the standard wheels, they were plastic wrapped from the place I got my new ones and have been like that for a good year sat in my garage. Might crack them on for some track fun but I've already knackered my new ones on potholes and from clipping the edges at oulton park on 'Foulstons' so might just leave them pakaged for when i come to sell the car
