I cant post the address as a link yet as I haven't posted enough... however, what do you fine people make of the following extract from that article (about half way down):

telegraph.co.uk/motoring/car-manufacturers/seat/10886241/Seat-Leon-Cupra-review.html

"Some extra-vivid body paint options are coming soon."

The article was posted only last week, and I haven't read about it anywhere else, so it would be interesting to know when and what this is referring to...
Does anyone know anything about extra paint options, possibly incoming soon?

I think that's to do with the orange paint with the performance pack.

Black line pack?!

Hi,

I'm going to take the plunge this Thursday for the cupra 280... Very excited!
I know it's been mentioned on here already but not a lot was known back then.

I'm interested in the black line pack as it states the wheels are different, also I'm wondering if this changes the front bumper in any way? Or are all the 280s standard as far as the style of front bumper?

I'd interested to hear from anyone that decided to pay the 500 extra for it to see if it's worth it. I want dark alloys so I'd prob pay the 500 just for that instead of after market ones.

I'm asking about the bumper as on the internet there's a silver 280 that's on the Geneva motor show and I don't know if it's my eyes or if they modified the bumper...? If that's the standard I'll go with that as I love it! All the photos I look at on internet seem to look slightly different to the geneva one..? Anyone.

It's prob very obvious to you guys so sorry to come across daft!

I was originally going to go for the black line pack on my grey cupra but bailed at the last minute as I could not find any information on what it actually changes, looking at that picture it's so not worth £500 so I'm glad I didn't.

Err.., what exactly is included in the "black line"? Saw the post on the Seat G+ page, https://plus.google.com/u/0/+seat/posts but I'm struggling to see the differences. The wheels look a bit darker in the middle, but that's about it.

Mentioned this back in the other cupra thread but according to the official print:
"Includes 19" Cupra alloy wheels with black accents, gloss black door mirrors, black Cupra tailgate lettering, gloss black front grille surround and black rear side spoilers."

Thats the first time I've seen a picture of it, just affirms I made the right choice but not having it, the only real noticeable change is the alloys. The side spoilers must be the stuck on things on the side of the back window.

But the standard Cupra (280 at least) has gloss black grille surround and gloss black mirrors already. So, anyone ordering this would be paying £500 for slightly different colour wheels, a couple of black plastic strips on tailgate and black cupra letters? Seems a bit on the steep side to me?

Or is this aimed at the Cupra 265, which would at least get the bigger wheels as part of the deal? I'd save the £500 and have the 18's anyway.

I know exactly why I backed out of it. The only bits I want is the black cupra lettering and maybe black wheels (to look unique) but like you say thats no where near worth £500. You would have thought they would have made the rear diffuser gloss black too to match, maybe the front lower grill too, then maybe I would think about getting it.

I'm considering doing the black lettering myself with a black touch up pen. Anyone done this before?

Buy a new set of letters and get them sprayed by a paintshop. Check Syphon / Scott's RR thread as he did this on his white Cupra and it looks superb on white (in my opinion). Not sure it would work so well on our red one though.

Yeah Syphon's car is where I got the idea from, and why I originally wanted the black line pack. Getting a new set of lettering is an idea but I didn't want to pay big bucks for a body shop to do it when I could do it myself for the cost of some touchup paint. I also didn't want to take the lettering off the car as I've debadged a car before and it was a pain in the arse from what I remember, not to add the possibility the new ones might not be put on straight, that would do my nut in lol.

On an unrelated note I keep watching the awsome dockside simulator video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b67CSYkBSUo) and can't help but notice the prominent turbo dump valve noise, is that actually on the real production cupra or were they specifically fitted "for show" in that video? I never noticed it on the one I test drove, but then I didn't drive it with the windows down.

I get the impression that the black line option is so 265 buyers can make their car look like a 280. The white line is for people who want their car to look krap!

When I ordered mine the salesman said you can't have a black line pack on black car. Basically if you have a white car you order black line pack it gives you black wing mirrors, around the bumper grill is white and a few other things, and visa versa on a black car white accessories. I don't think it's worth the £500.

One of the wheels I mentioned on the previous page:

:(

And the demo car I drove that is now for sale with the above alloy fitted...

Damage looks quite mild before you factor in the machined finish. I can see three years down the line a lot of these Cupras will be on the market with the factory wheels painted or powder coated a different colour. In fact, put them in the garage, run the car on a normal set of 18" and put the factory wheels back on come sale time. Could be a good selling point as most of the original machined wheels will be buggered by then.

I have a set of 18" Speedlines in the garage, but they have winter tyres on. If I buy another set of wheels I'll never hear the end of it!
