You should be well impressed i know i am, they look great!! You orderd the stickers? Also when you take them to get the tyres fitted make sure you watch and tell them there self refurbed so as to not use there bars to close on the rim and scratch them up! But bloody good job so far
Don't u worry I'll be making sure they don't scratch them
The paint was from apd but I have noticed that u can get
It off the bay it's called hycote ford graphite grey metallic
Double acrylic concentrated paint and it's £3 for 150 ml
I've used 3 tins just on 2 wheels
Will post more photos when I get some stickers
£40 I've been quoted off the bay
Think the cupra r wheels are going for 250 with tyres. Dont sell them there a nice wheel and hard to find good sets of them! I only swapped mine because i wanted 17s.
I had 17" on mine when I first got it felt every
Single bump in the road sold them for £100
I'm in no rush to sell them i paid £90 for them
Plus £100 refurb plus another £160 in tyres
Total £350
If it was me i would have got them shot blasted for £25, gave a quick sand down to take the roughness out or a file for any curbing then powdercoat for £125 then your wheels look like brand new and powdercoast lasts alot longer than paint. Quick question does anyone know where to get the full centre caps that cover the bolts aswell for the standard cupra wheels cheap? I rang up TPS and they wanted £63
Try dale see if he has any.
No offence mate but what's the point in paying
That amout of money when I'm getting a good
Result off paint.
Yellowonvi I don't wanna risk mixing different paint
With the paint I got already wanna stick with the
Same manufacture if that makes sense just ordered
4 more tins will be here Tuesday also
Don't know what to do about the seat sport stickers
Been quoted of eBay £35 all in that's the outer rim Stickers and the centre oz stickers still no joy on centre caps
Nothing wrong with finish on these home made rims as for smoothing out the curb marks that would leave the rim edge uneven and would still need filling with chemical metal to get an even shape so comments arnt valid ;p
Id get them stickers mate thats a good price and they'll finish off the rims nicely.
Didnt say there was! if you use a really course file then yeah maybe, they are as ive done it myself on a very badly kerbed set of wheels and they came out like brand new! Im also a tig welder and can weld alloys which allways helps
