hey, i have recently bought the uni intercooler kit from ebay for my mk3 cupra. Got it fitted yesterday was rather a chew on cuttin bumper an few other bits for it to fit, took it for spin last night an one of the pipes blew off underneath car, so the problem i have is where the alloy tubin joins underneath (inlet part for intercooler i think) the peice of tube supplied is not the same size as the standard silicone whats already on the car when tightend its jus blowin off coz its nt exact size , anyone else experienced this themselfs if so what is the soloution for fixing this do i need to get another silicone peice or other parts ? Any info much appreciated thanks :)

What is the size for the silicone hoses? It should be 57mm iirc :)

Plus, i dont think that the aluminum pipe ork that comes with the kit isnt bubbled up at the end making it a better / tighter fit.

Moral of the story....You get what you pay for.

Solutions:
Either get someone to weld beading on the pipe, or double up the jubilee clips. If that doesn't work you could look for a better type of jubilee.

These are your best options.

yea its an ebay kit, the silicone hosing is 57mm, an the alloy tubing doesnt have the beadin on, will try putin 2 clips on untill i get better tubing an some t clamp style clips. Thanks guys :)

or get some mikalor (or however you spell it) clamps. i had get some for me turbo to charge pipe connection as that kept popping off on me.

had this problem when fitted mine , needed a bit of the side of the front bumper cut out for the silicone pipes, went for 3-4 test runs because they kept poping off, went B&Q got some decent jubilee clips and even doubled up on some , now all okay :)
