One thought, have you got automatic air con or manual, if automatic? I'd think that that sensor is to monitor sunlight and so reduce heating when sun is shining. My daughter's Ibiza has manual air con and does not seem to have that sensor, my Passat certainly had one, think the Polo has as well and both of them have automatic air con, I have not noticed a sensor on the S4 though.

Ahhh I have auto, with it being the sport it comes with climate control with the auto function.

Thanks for clearing that up!

Doesn't really work mind as the heaters constantly blow out hot air anyway haha. No idea how to fix this.

I didnt know they came stock with CD changer wiring in the boot, do people even use CD changers anymore??..

If you have no control of the temperature, it could be the temperature control flapmotor that is faulty, VCDS would confirm that. I had that in my old Passat B5, on one trip we had to stop just to recover form getting ourselves overheated, not handy when the weather gets warmer, certainly forced me to fit a new motor that I had bought. Maybe try demanding HOT >COLD > HOT > etc quite a few times as it tends to be the positional feedback contact track that gets dirty, any success you get will not last for ever though!

You will probably only have one "heavy" lead, ie the power one as all the rest will be signal level leads, so maybe not heavy enough for supplying speakers, though, if you chop off the connector and find that all the leads are the same cross section them you could use them instead of running extra wires to the speakers.
