Has anyone got a lease that's underwritten by Volkswagen Financial Services?

It says in the lease agreement that you can't modify without their consent.

Just wondering if anyone has done it anyway without repercussions, or if anyone has contacted them about modifications with success?

Not talking remaps and decats, but the more gentle modifications that can be reversed such "plug and play" tuning boxes, Maxton cosmetic parts etc.

Think anything that changes the electronics or power of the car or something that would impact the warranty would be a no. As long as it’s fully reversible and has no permanent impact on the car you should be ok.

This ^^

I contacted ALD who will be the official owners. I have it in writing that I can make changes to the car providing it is reversible, leaves no damage and doesn't modify the power.

I have the car booked in for a res delete with PCW which is a small risk, but as he takes the exhaust off and works on it from above, as the valves still work as normal, they wouldn't be able to see the mod by eye, unless they take the exhaust back off.

Hmm, so i need to find out who the actual owners are. I think it might be Johnsons..
What classes as "damage" though. Was looking at some Maxton stuff and you have to screw into the existing bumpers etc which would leave screw holes on the under side of the car when removed :/

ALD are the finance company so I imagine yours is financed by VWFS?

That would be classed as damage yeah. I am also looking at the Maxton splitters etc too. You might be able to fill the holes afterwards and match the paint as best you can, they might not notice? I will do some digging and let you know if I find out anything.

Surely though by that logic, a Res delete is damaging?

Indeed, which is why I said its a bit of a risk... all he does he create more airflow through the pipework, which is undetectable to the eye and sounds normal with the valves closed. You would have to put the car on a ramp, remove the exhaust and physically check it. Something they certainly won't do at handover. Plus, the process is apparently completely reversible.
