More cv joint trouble

Hellos guys and girls a thread awhile back about my driveshaft coming out my cv joint :( well its happened again  the part is from GSF and on further inspection I've found there's no groove for the circlip to sit in on the internals  so I went to GSF to get a new one but this time checked the joint and still not groove so I looked at all four parts they had for the car and none of them have a groove???

I've never seen this before and cant see how it's supposed to hold the shaft in without a groove for the circlip to sit in? Has anyone had this before I'm goin to go to seat next saterday and check there joints to see if there's a groove in them witch I hope there is as I now only have one wheel drive

Any help or info would be great :D

I know it was put on properly by me the first time and then fitted at a garage how is it held in without the groove then? I got a new clip in the box and all the other parts I checked had new clips????

some just dont have a clip, just fit in, then obviously when in the hub etc, its held in and cant go anywhere

Sam, this happened to me as well, however it was the original cv joint.
I thought I'd put it back together correctly, however I rolled back off the ramps on the drive and half way into the street, put it in gear and no drive :help:
After a few minutes of panicing coz I was blocking the street I chucked a brick behind the front wheel and let the handbrake off then used a long bar and socket on the driveshaft nut and after a few 1/4 turns moving the brick each time I was back in the drive.
Sorry, I've digressed but I managed to get the driveshaft correctly located that time but the next time it happened when I was doing bushes, I couldnt for the life of me get it back in correctly so went and got a new one from ECP, and now finally to the point - this did have the circlip groove.

I can get it on fine and it last for weeks/months so long as there is a part available with a groove all is good :D
