Yeah it's **** - already kicked off with SEAT dealer who wouldn't budge, called SEAT UK who backed the dealer up, called another SEAT dealer who wanted to charge...gave up on SEAT at this point and took it to the Fiat dealer I bought it from who tried to fix for free but couldn't - it is under warranty mate but they wont cough for it, it seems to be something the dealer will do as 'good will'. After today and the SHOCKING service I've recieved and the general approach of all SEAT employees I honestly feel like selling it, I do 25k a year and need it to be 100%...luckily I'm off this week but next time I might not be so lucky

Now then all - firstly thanks for all your help, I've now got the motor fixed...was at 68% full the DPF, cost me £80 all in to get it put right by German Auto Care in Leeds...they even valeted it for me! Well chuffed to have the beast back...was annoying a couple of boy racers on the way home! Was going to sell her...but now it's working again... ;-)

Worth noting in the future that you could ask someone on here who has vagcom to regen it for you - 68% would have been fine.

OK right not happy now...8 days on and 76 miles later the ******* has gone and done it again...surely the DPF can't fill up that quickly!?

It seems you are doing quite short journeys (I.e. Less than 10 miles a day). Are you in stop/start traffic or are you blasting it down the motorway? Short journeys and DPF don't like each other..... My dad dreads it when he stops in traffic as he knows the "judder" isn't far away!

I've hardly used it this week tbh - I've been working from home but it had a good run over the weekend - even SEAT admit it shouldn't have done that but they still want to charge me for a forced regen! I've done 7,000 in it since i got it at the end of Jan so it should be fine - I've had this issue weather i've hammered it down the motorway, driven it normally or thrashed it down country lanes...i do the 2000rpm thing when the light come on but I'm not having it after a week (it had a forced regen last Thursday)! It's going to be sold this weekend I'm afraid, it has proved to be a bit too troublesome.

My money would be on a broken sensor mate. Had the exact same lights as you did whilst 3 miles into a journey home from Poole (150 ish miles) and ran all the way home in 5th and still wouldn't clear the DPF. Dropped it into the dealer who quoted me £75 for a regen, went to pick it up and free under warranty as the sensor was knackered (3rd one in 3 years). You could save the hassle of selling and just spend £600 on a de-dpf...?

Yeah I was thinking sensor last week but it's been in with three different garages (SEAT Dealer, garage i bought it from and a SEAT/VW/Audi specialist) all of whom have checked the sensor - the place that did the regen on it did some investigation work thinking it was the sensor but they've confirmed it was fine. I've put a call into SEAT and I'm going to see what they say first. My opinion is there's something else wrong with it which is causing the fault. Could having it remapped cause anything like this? I haven't had it done but wondering if the previous owner did?

I'm at the point where I'm trying to get the car sent back to the finance company. In the last five weeks I've had the car for 6 days and had nothing but a battle with JCT600 SEAT and SEAT UK. Neither are helpful and I've had staff from the dealer shouting down the phone at me...I was told today that the Leon FR diesel isn't designed for driving into town and should only really be driven on the motorway...by a very unhelpful member of SEAT's customer 'care' team. I've had regens done and had the light back on within 120 miles, in fact the record was 90 miles. I've had it go into safe mode while overtaking, leaving me stuck on the wrong side of the road with no power.
SEAT and VW as a whole should man up and sort this problem out, my car has broken down on 10 occasions since April and I've had little or no support from SEAT UK - I was even told by the dealer they couldn't ever fix it which I promptly told SEAT UK who called the dealer who then called me back and told me they could fix it and it required a regen which would cost £180...despite the car being in with them only two weeks prior to the fault re-occurring.
It is the car, not my driving - I have a regional job role so do a lot of miles on the motorway and even after driving it to Bristol and back (I live in Leeds) the light has come on after only a few local trips.

I wouldn't buy a VAG diesel again and would advice anyone NOT to buy one...they're trouble.

FINALLY a resolution - Black Horse got involved and the DPF has been replaced and the car un-remapped...the garage had it in for 5 days and it's been put back to normal tune...and after 4.5k miles it's fine...slower but not been a moments trouble...remembered why i bought it now...SEAT customer service is shabby but at least it's fixed now...thanks for all the support guys.

I may be in the market for a diesel pretty soon and the Leon is high up my list, but read things like this really gets me worrying! How the hell can SEAT say the Leon TDi isn't designed for driving around town - it's 2011 for god sake, cars are built to drive in all conditions!

DPF, injector issues, god knows what else....not sure I want a VAG diesel anymore

Ive had no problems after 8k in the CR.....

Seat seem to be complete shits! It's a shame it had to go as far as the finance company getting involved! And to be told the FR isn't designed to be driven into town is a complete joke!!

I'm glad its sorted for ya mate, seems you've been through the mill a bit!!
