most miles out of one tank?

Try venting, you should be able to fit a lot more in then.

there is a little valve button inside the filler press this when it indicates its full then it lets the air out then keep doing this! and pull nozzel out a bit as well i can get 46 quid in to my tank so about 45 lt!

when it clicks push the button in the filler area then it will drop the level of fuel a bit due to the air getting out then fill again

Alternatively, hold the rubber nipple thing down with the end of the pump and fill up like that as it'll probably be quicker than constantly stopping to vent.

I've been advised that venting/overfilling the tank is not good. Knackers the carbon filter or something?

i only ever did it once (seeing what i could get from a full tank) seem to remember it being around the 550 mark although i just drove normally. doubt i'd ever go back to petrol unless i win the lotto or something

-hides- i filled my car up the other day... like i always seem to be doing and i got 59L in it.. tried to push for 60 .. just for a giggle.. but alas no.

gonna see how many miles i can get out of this one.. however after being an hour on country lanes etc with a ex copper next to me on the way home i had to play a little just to even the score.. i recon thats put the breaking 700 miles out for me!

I regulary get 600 miles out of one tank but thats with putting 60L of diesel in and a mixture of driving fast and slow.
Over 700 miles/tank would be easy with a bit of granny driving.

I managed 690 from 1 tank in my Ibiza FR but was too boring to do all that all the time...

Just had to post pics to support the phenomenal mileage it does

went to Hunters' lodge meet after work today, done 270 miles, fuel comp still reads nearly 600 left!!!

This is a TDI forum, right? So who are all these visitors who report only 300 or 400 or 500 miles?

Best I ever did was 802 miles. And then I only filled up a couple miles after the low-fuel light came on -- I could have easily gone another 50 miles. And the tank after that one got even slightly better mileage, though I filled up much sooner to take advantage of a low fuel price.
