you end up with a vehicle that on paper has a valid mot but has failled its early test then.
i'd like to see the opinion of an insurance company on this subject as they'll walk on fire so's not to pay out.

Mj I'll post a picture tomorrow to show you but I sprayed grease on them like a week ago so I honestly think that's what he's seen as I can't see them failing after not even 8 months. What is the bounce test by the way?

just clean them off and tell him that its wd - he should have no reason to fail it then.

polish or eastern europeans tend to treat all the exposed parts of their cars on a regular basis with thin based grease or oil because in their countries of origin the temp is normally alot colder and snow is present all year round, they believe doing so will prevent the salt used on the roads from damaging their cars.

reality is the crap from the road sticks to the oil and can cause more harm than good, they tend to do this just before MOT time which can cause the tester obvious problems as you cant tell whats leaking and whats not.

the car wouldnt feel very stiff unless they'd completely collapsed, the oil is what dampens the shock force so it'd just crash very harshly and handling would suffer.

I'll have a check tomorrow but handling definitely hasn't changed! As for stiffness it just feels the same as when I had the coilovers fitted, ap's are known for been quite stiff though

I hope so it's just abit annoying if so because obviously I might have to pay again and got to try get it booked in within the next 10 days so I don't have to pay full again. One last quick question do I need to take it back to the same test centre for the partial retest?
