MP3 Player Holder in Drinks Drawer

Have done a search and got some really great information regarding putting a mp3 player in the ash tray of my Leon but i thought i'd post an idea and see what u guys reckon about modding the fold-away drinks tray to hold a Sony NW-HD5 player (about same size as IPod).

Here's my plan; i'd like the player to lie flat in the tray when it is pushed in but as it comes out and the bottom part of the stand flips down it'd be great if the player could stand up. Obviously, the tray is round shaped and that'd need to change (ideas????) and also whats my best option for how to plug it in - FM transmittor (perhaps i could hide this so only the plug and part of the cable comes out from behind) or can i just somehow just straight plug it in wit the 3.5mm plug???

THoughts???

No reason why it couldn't be done, but I just can't see a reason why you'd want to do it?

I used to use a sony mp3 player with one of cassette plug in devices, but got fed up with the messing about, so just bought a cd changer.

If you want to still do it probably the best way is use one of those fm transmitter doodah's like you can get for the ipod, but the problem i faced with is charging the mp3 player in the car.

But i believe you can buy something for that now, again ipod based i think.

yeah i know a DVD reading hu would be a plan but i wouldnt be able to play playlists and it would require like 5 dvd's for all my music and not be so accesible!

But if i was to go with the Drink's Tray fold-away option, anyone got any suggestions as to how to make the round (not quite wide enough) cup holder allow a square mp3 to sit there upright when open and fold down when pushed in??

Otherwise, any suggestions as to how i could 'neatly' add a MP3 player and FM transmittor in without jus having a cradle etc...

Much appreciated!!
