Hi , my mate has a 2.0 FSI Altea Sport and is a bit concerned that he is only getting on average 20 - 25 mpg , on a long run it managed 27 mpg . Is this about right ?
Cheers , neil

Have a 2.0FSI with Tiptronic (is this the rarest Altea type in the UK??) and driven hard it drinks fuel - and supposedly the expensive stuff as well - not that I have noticed much difference but not done any real comparisons. Speed and driving style make a huge difference - much more than I have experienced on a lot of previous vehicles.

Returning from Wales last weekend at a steady 55-60 got 41mpg (computer info) but driven along the motorway at my usual true 75mph (speedo on 82-83) will get 32-33mpg. Used around town 22-25 at best. Overall (about 15k miles) computer shows 27-28 mpg and generally I drive reasonably quickly (according to others). Get slightly better overall fuel economy from my SLK230 Auto which I do drive quickly.........:)

Need an auto and couldn't justify a TDI DSG when we got this one as mileage (annual) not high enough to cover price difference. Do like the car and performance though!!
