Have you changed tyres?
Use more aircon?
Changed fuel types/brand?

Don't take it the wrong way but have you put on weight?

Anything left rolling around in the boot?
With a small drop like that open windows could be the cause?

Mine has suddenly dropped to 20 MPG in the last week or two.
Used to be 25 MPG.

Thanks for all your reply's

I have now tried using ECOM mode (Air Con OFF) Not alot of difference.

I am using Sainsburys fuel as my wife got a 5p voucher. Usually use Shell.

Tyres been changed for the last 2-3 months.

I have actually lost 1 1/2 stone since January so I think that one can be crossed off the list (Thinks should be doing more MPG then!!!!)

My car is new but my DSG 140 is currently returning under 30mpg round London (mid forties on motorways). I have put it down, like others say, to the heat, and the fact I have the air con blasting all day. I don't like the Economy mode. Doesn't seem to make any difference as you say, and smells hot and manky. Probably OK in the winter but this time of year I am leaving it on Auto at 18 degrees.

Hoping it'll improve a bit as the engine wears in as well though, I was shocked to see 29.3mpg as an average today.

My FRtd must be fecked i only get about 32/35mpg!!! 45mpg luxury ;)

Wow, get that checked out, unless you are hoofing everywhere. My FR TFSI gets 32 driving normally.

I have always found that "cheaper" fuel performs worse. Especially supermarket fuel. I stay away from all brands other than Shell V-Power Unleaded. (Now at £1.16 per l) :(

EDIT - But a 5p off per L is a no-brainer, i guess that makes it around 1.17 a Litre for diesel, outways the performance difference??

i filled up yesterday at £1.20 per litre and that was just the ordinary fuel from Asda, i dont get anything below 38mpg and thats when im ragging it. when i drive steady i get around 53 - 55mpg. could be your tracking out as that reduces fuel economy by around 20%.

This could be the issue, on petrol cars I've had trouble with Sainbury's fuel before.

Fords used to splutter in the wet running on Sainsburys fuel and the Cupra wasn't happy when I used Sainsburys Super instead of V-Power.

I'd try Shell again for a few tanks to see if that makes a difference.

By the way, I must live near a very expensive petrol station. The local Texaco is about £1.259 a litre at the moment for Diesel.

@Fleggy. You will get slightly better fuel MPG than trapper driving an ibiza. It would be interesting to see what MPG you would be getting using Shells V-Power. I think more. Good suggestion about the tracking.

I have just got back home from a 35-40 mile round trip. I’m selling my car tomorrow and didn’t want to get any more fuel and i have just broke my own record for fuel economy in a single trip...... 47.3MPG from my TFSI.. wow, even if I do say so myself. I was driving like a complete :censored: like. My "miles left" computer says 5, its 12 miles to the garage.
