hi im thinking of getting a Mk4 ibiza 1.9 TDi FR and i was wondering if this car has a trip computer with a mpg calculator on it? and also could anyone tell me a little about the car whats good and whats bad etc?
Thanks

Sean

Yes it does have a trip computer, you can see figures that start with a 5 if you drive it properly too

As for what's good........this is a Seat forum so we're a bit bias.

Personally the only bad bit is the ride as I think it's a bit hard and can make some strange noises over bumps.

well its probably a step up from my lowered astra lol scraping the bumps but ive noticed that some of the fr ones have not got the fr style interior and have different alloys :/ but they still have the 130 bhp is there a difference with spec in these 2? and do they all have an mpg cal as im wanting my next car to have one! lol

Are you sure they are FR's and not just 100 bhp sports badged up to look like an FR ? - How do you know they are 130 bhp ?

Six speed gearbox is the first thing to look for ( too expensive to change for a lookalike )

the 130PD engine is a beast. very torquey don't be fooled.

The 100bhp engine is very underpowered in comparison

The FR's ride is terrible and road noise bad too. Handling is not the best and suspension prone to knocks (as already metioned)

The ASZ engine will do 50mpg no bother. The later BLT engine (euro 4) is not as good mpg wise and suffers from hesitations between 1500 and 2000 revs but has less turbo lag....

Build quality is ok. Better than a fiesta for example. Spec is good.

FR brakes are rubbish - need upgrading to TT 312mm spec.

I had an early (53 Plate) 130 sport and now we have an 07 FR facelift. SEAT add and take away bits year to year so look out for boot light, glove box light, colour coded bits and different dash (really early cars had 6 clock dash)

We love our car but it has it's owns quirks. If you want a pocket rocket that goes like fook in a straight line the FR looks cool and does the job.

If you want a great handling 'drivers' car ...... nope.

hi thanks for your reviews im still looking into it and because they are a cheap to insure and quick diesel that i may consider getting one. heres 2 which ive been looking at on auto trader and they have different interiors i can see and they are bothe the same :s which has confused me a little as they are both fr.
they also have different alloys and the second one looks better for some reason :/ could anyone possibly explain the reason why? thanks unfortunatly due to forum rulse i cant post the url until ive posted 15 times so if someone could look at them one is £6,495ish and sold by Quarry Garage. and the other is £5,990 and is sold by Adamsons Sports And Performance Cars.
Thanks

There is a 130 sport and a 130 FR they both have the same engine but different interior and exterior styling as one is a facelift and one isn't.

The first one at £5990 from Adamsons is a pre-facelift model and the second at £6495 from Quarry is a facelift model. The Facelift version came out mid-way through 2006, it had different bumpers larger wheels and different interior amongst other things. They are both FR's though. Hope this helps.

thanks for all your information its been a big help and i now know what im looking for (pref a post facelift model with the bigger alloys etc.) thanks =]
