It's a t25 torx :p

Well my quite old ETOS (VAG parts listing) does list it as "TORX HEADED" - but the Polo had M14 12 pointed spline head on the original bolts and same on the new bolts that I bought from VW - and it will be a common part across this platform. That's not to say that you might just be able to hammer a TORX bit in to the bolt head - but TORX don't have 12 pointed heads - that is what makes it a SPINE and not RIB or any thing else.

Sounds like a halfords jobby to me :) buy it, use it, return it and say it was the wrong size! Perfect for tools you only ever need once

They seem to be so short on stocked "special" bits that I'd reckon that they would need to order it in - and they seem to deal with Laser Tools - and they only seem to place an order once a week!! (be there, done that and paid for the carriage and got bored with the wait), I ordered from "just off base" - I think, as they are Sealey stockists.

On second thoughts, lawreiIbizaMk4, I think that you were refering to the TORX for the droplink - if so SORRY! To the OP what I wrote above still stands, sorry for the confusion!

Scrap that editted comment lawrieIbizaMk4 - I should be replying to the previous posting!!!

Strut bolt is a spline. Drop link is a torx lol. Replacement drop links have an Allen head though. Just to make it awkward
