Not many updates or time / resources spent on the car

just finishing putting the final parts together for my R32/TT front suspension setup

I have the quickrack which is 2.5 turns lock to lock as opposed to 3.3

Cast iron wishbones eliminates the inherant understeer which all MK4 Golfs suffer

Also means camber can be bang on 1.5 degrees - they are a massive improvement over standard wishbones and they also offer:

* An 0.5 degrees of extra adjustable negative camber (If car is not lowered it is -1 degrees and more if lowered)
* increased track width
* These are MUCH lighter than stock lower arms - handling is massivley improved in the handling department with the weight loss
* stiffer bushes= more feel and a better driving experience!
* the best thing about the TT wishbones is that they already come with the bushes pressed in when you buy them brand new from the dealers!
* price breakdown:

Ball Joint Nuts: - £0.50p Each
Amount required= 6 total, (3 per side)
Part Number= N103 320 02

Lower control arm: - £104.18 Each
Amount required=2 total, 1 per side
Part number=8J0 407 151 D (same part number for each side)

Hex Nut to attach ball joint to hub : - £1.91 Each
Amount required= 2 total, 1 per side
Part Number=WHT 000 785

Ball Joints: - £34.00 Each
Amount required= 2 total, 1 per side
Part number= 8J0 407 365 (LEFT SIDE), 8J0 407 366 (RIGHT SIDE)

Ball Joint Lock Plates: - £4.57
Amount required= 2 total, 1 each side
Part number= 8J0 407 175 (176)

love it mate, really subtle but alot of work done there!!!

Always had a soft spot for well Modd'd MKIV's

Real nice upgrade.

This would mean me losing my expensive drop links. Would you need to change the suspension on the front too and the front ARB?

Hi mate nice build thread I've just bought a PD150 5 door golf to.

Have you got a pic or any more info about the R32 DSG Air feed snorkel and Audi S3 Airbox?

Does the S3 airbox take the standard PD MAF and if not would the R32 snorkel fit in the standard box if I modified it?

I assume the R32 DSG one is a lot better that standard intake?

Cheers.

S3 Airbox is identical size but it just has a flashy cover!!

I may have a spare one in my shed

heres the R32 DSG snorkel

Maz, Will finish off writeup as the R32 subframe setup is on! just need to find a quiet coffee break

My nearside wishbone bushes have been causing issues over the last few months, I finally got the finsihing touches in time for my R32 front setup with superpro bushes!

I was advised I could use my original track rod ends and with the kit I have collected over the past year or so, the track rod ends were cut!

A quick phone call to GSF and thank god they had the last kit in stock!

I also managed to get my grubby mits on a 26mm Eibach front ARB for a bargain price! the OEM r32/TT arb is only 19mm!!

Handling has improved dramatically. Understeer has gone! The response in the handling is unreal! the quickrack certainly helps too!

My tyres will be replaced later today and I will get it tracked again just incase!

Let me know if you have mate, I smoothed mine top and bottom and don't like the sound it makes so I'd be interested in either buying or swapping it for a smoothed one :)

Lovely Car mate, what sort of mpg are you getting? Diesel is the way forward, abit board of putting petrol in my 25mpg leon! and did you have the seats retrimmed? they look mint.

Some minor updates

SACHS uprated clutch finally fitted as well as OEM flywheel

LSD (Quaiffe Diff) also fitted as well as Eibach Pro Street Coilovers

incidentally, due to a change in circumstances I will be selling a few of the mods I had planned for later this year

they are Race 783 nozzles, a stage 2 hybrid and an ARL head

Clutch holds the power very well!!
when i first had the clutch put in i thought i made a mistake as it was a very firm and unconfortable but after 700 miles it was far more drivable

covered around 4000 miles now - not as comfy as OEM but you cant have everything lol!!

not many updates from me, just been keeping the car clean and filling her up with diesel

also had some bodywork done last year, R32 tailgate with a MK5 boot release - thanks to DK for the carbon fibred badge :p

The front tyres were due to be replaced and I managed to get a good deal on some Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymetric tyres
This is the latest offering from Goodyear and unlike the F1s from the past which wore out in no time, these are supposed to be the best tyres they have
I have covered 1000 miles in them and i must admit they are awesome in the dry but better in the wet The Vredersteins were good mid range tyres but these are on another level

car was also due a MOT and she sailed through
