The polisher is a porter cable random orbital. But that is only really because I bought it before home detailing really took off and I had to import it from the US. Lots of others available and they all use the same pads. I don't trust myself with a rotary, plus I don't do it often enough to warrant one. If I did go into business it would be a must.
As for products, it's always a personal choice. I would get onto detailing world and read some
reviews. But as u asked I didn't buy anything special and just used what I already had. Wheel arches, under bonnet and door shuts cleaned with meguiars degreaser. I clayed it with auto finesse clay which i bought for my old car. It was too fine for this really as i had to repeat it and use lots of tar and fallout remover to get it properly clean. polish is various grades of menzerna. Where I needed a cleaner wax I used auto finesse tripple otherwise it was a meguiars glaze and everywhere topped off with collinite wax. The wax I use for longevity, but it looks pretty good also. Oh and for the first time i did give it a alcohol wipe after the polishing to clean off any residue. The
Ibiza is my daily, and after doing all this work it is only likely to get washed once a month, but it does get re-waxed every 3 washes.
