my arosa has lost first gear!!!

my seat arosa lost first gear the other day and now wont select, and wont even go in the direction of first.
all other gears work fine,

any ideas? is thi s a common problem?

i had a diff go on my 1.7 but i could still use 1st? wait for m0rk to arrive as he will know for sure if its adjuster or the box

check ure gear linkages make sure they havent poped off!
