my Cupra lose to an old barge like vauxhall...never?

With all the boy racery talk of late about racing this, racing that, i thought id write a post about a tussle i had today.

on my way to uni, a barge like vauxhall drive by a grey haired old man comes storming up behind in a 30mph zone (well any car can do that), its a dark green big rep style car but kinda sporty looking and its pretty much stuck to my rear bumper and is starting to piss me off, come to a few bends and i trounce him without breaking the speed limit (now 40mph) and theres one last corner coming up which leads on to a straight and 60zone... i usually just take the corner at 40 and then open her up in 5th and stop at 60, but as soon as we are through the corner this ****ing old bloke in a vauxhall is back behind me...hes not making any gestures or silly driving position as u might get with a saxo or a nova driver but hes still pissing me off. So foot down, its only a vauxhall? so leave it in 5th right? 50,60,70,80...he hasnt fallen back an inch??? 90...100mph... now normally i never do this? i even dispise this sort of driving but it shows how someone can bring it out of u.. iv had enough anyway and let off throttle to slow hes not overtaking though

so wtf? why didnt my performance hot hatch show this old man a few new tricks??....other people are pissing over scoobys and evos and i cant pull away from a big , tank like vauxhall......well just done my research and turns out it was one of these

tbh i doubt dropping a gear would have made any difference at all. if i had dropped a gear he could have just as easily, at first it seemed like he was just keeping up but after 70 it was more obvious that he wanted to push me.

it could well have been a kitted up regular carlton but it was impressive enough for me to believe that it was a real one, after all i didnt think the regular V6 would be turbo charged meaning that I would be able to see one of those of pretty effortlessly

Daz this was through Undy/magor iv seen the car before parked outside one of the garages just down the road from whitbread by the turn off for magor square, maybe take a look for yourself some time...a very long, banged up, green saloon with lotus badges lol

The lotus carlton is one of the finest cars made imho.

Up until the new M5 came out it was STILL the fastest production saloon car you could buy.

They had a top speed of 170mph but some owners have had 190 out of them

Theres a guy by me who owns two left hookers, they are both mint

does the races where you average 180mph on a road course (closed...)

modded it a bit, including longer gearing etc

i used to realy be into vauxhals and the lotus carltron club was at total vauxhal 2 years ago loads of them and all mint! neva under estimate these bad boys there nuts!
