My Door Card Off & Now...

...the little alarm LED blinker doesn't flash when I lock the car and the driver side door tweeter doesn't put out but the bass does.

Very weird indeed but when I lock the car, all the doors lock, hazzard lights flash as they should and alarm sounds as it's supposed to. Could it be that the connections have just come loose?

Have you took the door card off to look?
Them connectors are tight when snapped together.

Well I didn't take it off so I'm unsure what to look for to be honest. I am hoping that they just forgot to reconnect them.

Thanks Lee, at least now i know that if they are connected, then the wiring is most likey shagged in some way. I'll get it off on Saturday.

I had to take my door card off last week to fit a new mirror, put it all back together and thought nothing more of it. Drove the car to the petrol station and couldn't get out of the drivers door! Highly embarrassing lol. Turns out I had forgot to clip the door release cord back onto the handle properly. Oops!

Haha luckily I don't have that issue. It's torque screws along the bottom and cross head screws in the door handle right?

Yep, and then the clips around the outside that should just pop off

Be carefull taking trim off the handle as it damages easy, then the 2 torx screws at bottom T25 i think, and give it a gentle pull and it unlcips, dont be scared to yank it, but if its been off should just pop off. When re fitting, put the top in 1st, kinda hooks over then get it in position for screws, put the 2 torx in and go round the card using the palm of your hand locating the clips, then put the 2 cross head screws in. Oh yeah and courtsy light pops out and pops back in.

Aha, I remember now, been so long since I did the N/S door seal. I'm taking it to my dad's workshop on the weekend so should have all the tools I need.

I don't the the LED blinker can be disconnected?.....I think [from doing mine last month] that it just pulls out of the black plastic clip and door card lifts off?.....I know the wires get tiny and get brittle and break.

Tweeter is prob really simple...not connected is my guess.

Easy job, did it in 10mins. As you said Lee, just two black connectors that weren't plugged in. My blinker is now blinking and my tweeter is tweeting

Just make sure you clipped the door lock wire into the handle or your in trouble when you want to get out
