looking good, we were looking at a chain tensioner for a customer a while back and i think they are around the 250 mark, i know they wernt cheap.

I know there bout £300 inc vat. I'm not totally happy with what this guy is doing tbh as he is just replacing the two nylon end caps.

However iirc corectly the whole tensioner split in half as the piston came out, so he going to put it back together

I'm going up to do a spot check on him today and see this tensioner he is fitting!

some good work going on there fella.:)
when you get a chance can you put a micrometer across some of the rods and pins so we can once and for all have the definative measurements for the Cupra R engine. ;)

You can tell instantly that there 20mm pin just by looking at the rod ;)

Why? Does it say 20mm on it?

You've got better eyes than me (Mr Terminator :D ) if you can spot the difference between 19mm and 20mm...

If you could measure them, we'd be grateful...

Cause I have super human powers :D

You can tell instantly the difference by looking at the small end on the std rod it is not tapered!

I'll measure them with a mic just to keep you guys happy.

I'm running standard pistons and Scat rods, so no pins. I wont be goin for massive power on mine, about 330ish max and my pistons are ok so i didnt change them.

The standard pins have worn in the centres. I've ordered what i think looks right off ETOS now, 4 bushes/pins and 8 circlipss. Hopefully they;ll be the right ones now.

Have you measured them? Cause the small end should not wear that much cause it only rotates bout 45 degrees. It should be slightly shiny in the midle.

Why would you change the bushes? Cause the bushes should be already in the scat rod.

Yeah, but English mm or Scottish mm ? :D

Noooooo. Don't put that, Steve - in X years when the picture's dead, everyone will still think they're 19mm, when that picture clearly shows them as 20mm

:D

Just to be clear Yumann - yours is an AMK isn't it?

That's "You're".

Just updated my "210/225 Differences" sticky and I'm reminded that someone posted the part numbers for the pistons and conrods being the same on the AMK and BAM, so that now suggested that they DO all have 20mm pins. Confused.

Anyway, we're cluttering up Yumann's thread.

Picking up the head today? Busy weekend then :D
