Hello everyone!
I'll get straight to the point. I currently drive a VW Polo 2002 1.4 with a whopping great 75hp and 125Nm of torque at roughly 4000rpm. It's fine for popping to the shops, but it's not exactly great for my daily 50 mile commute down the motorway. There are occasions I can barely hold 70mph on some inclines
So, i'm getting a new car! The 2012 SEAT Ibiza FR 1.6TDI. I know I know, I here your cries "Why not the 1.2TSI" well simply put I got this diesel at a great price and found larger engine size and higher level of torque attractive for my fairly long journeys.
It's going to be my first new car, and only my 2nd car at that.
The 0-60 time of 10.5 seconds is only marginally better than the 12.6 seconds of my Polo. However, the figures quite different:
Polo:
125Nm at roughly 4000RPM
Ibiza 1.6TDI
250Nm at 1500RPM.
So i'm hoping it brings quite a different driving experience than that of my polo that feels like it's working overtime at anything above 60 mph, which also requires constant gear changes as it has NO pull at anything below 2500RPM if your in the wrong gear. Absolutely nada.
So am I going to be really dissapointed or pleasantly surprised ?
