she stood up well though and i walked away with only whiplash, not bad :)

didnt look as bad as mine but it was pretty smashed.

both pretty hefty cars though, looks like mine took most the force.

Unfortunaetly you will be liable for the car you hit, even though it wasn't your fault.
You should sit at least 2 car lengths away fron the car infront of you (as per the Highway code). If you hit someone in the rear it's instantly your fault.
Been there, it's shite!!

Surely thats only when moving? I can understand if the BMW claimed from James insurance then then technically he lost his no claims until they then claimed from the audi driver then it was re instated but parked? Mind you wouldn't surprise me Bstds.

when the cars are stationary its generally the tyres and tarmac rule, if everyone left two car lengths between cars the traffic jams would twice aslong! and i bet you dont leave two car lengths either ;)

That's how I was taught, when stationary you must be able to see both rear tyres touching the ground and about a ft of tarmac. It's hard to say what the insurance co's will do, in an ideal and fair wold though, the Audi driver would swallow it all. Really gutted for you though, I have read your many posts over the last few months and you've put alot of effort in to that car.

Not saying I'm perfect but have had history with the same issue and that what it came out like. This was over 10 years ago so it might all be different.
BTW Tyres and tarmac is a new one on me, only been driving for 15 years too, lol

well i was stationary the bmw was stationary and the audi was doing about 30 when the accident occured.

I think you'll be ok personally. It would take a complete tw@t of an insurance company to blame you for any of the incident. Who the **** leaves two car lenghts between the car in front when stopping  never heard anything so stupid.
