cheers for the comments guys.

what do people think of these wheels?

they are Magline light weight wheels in 17's. i do like the standard wheels a lot, but when i went to santa pod the other week, i took out my spare wheel before i left and was shocked as to how heavy it was so thought id weight it. It came up as 3st 2lbs!!! 3 of my wheels weigh the same as me give or take a bit!! to me, that seems heavy. these wheels seemed really light when i picked them up, which i think will help down the 1/4 mile

nice mate the seat sport alloys are one of very few that will clear the calipers so best checking before you you get them! not a bad 1/4 mile time for standard

yeah that is my worry about them fitting over the caliper as the gap between the caliper and inside of the alloy is barely big enough to fit the key between!

was quite surprised with my 1/4 mile time aswell, as was the bloke in the scooby that i raced!!he only just beat me by 0.10 of a second!! your 1/4 mile time is also very impressive!

It looks amazingly familiar, probably because it's exactly the same as mine :D Well, except that your engine bay looks a lot nicer with the hoses. The only issue I've had so far (apart from a seat that refuses to go backwards and forwards on the runner) is keeping the bl**dy thing clean .. black looks so great clean, and gets dirty so fast  :D

Ant, mine are exactly the same, they are level rather than following the line of the bodywork, but I agree it looks strange, I had to check mine against another cupra to make sure they should be doing that!

AntFR - no that wasnt me mate, have been up santa pod a few times, but i dont no anyone with a mk4 golf. if it has a REALLY small number plate on the front of it, then it prob was most likely me. last time i was at the pod was for the last RWYB on 15th october. Am going back there for Flamin Thunder in a few weeks

TonyK - Tell me about keeping it clean, is a nightmare! spend the afternoon cleaning it just for it to get dirty 5 mins after you take it out! Am pleased with how the hoses have chanegd the bay, have still got a few more to do, but i cant get the bloody clips off of the hoses so i can change them!!! Once i get my strut brace and recirc valve, it will start looknig how i want it to

as for the badges, they are straight, its just where the angle of the window makes it look funny, BUT one of my 'cupra' badges - think its my drivers side is wonky, has always been like that. have been meaning to get it sorted but never actually got round to it!

im thinking now about leaving the wheels and spending the money no a remap instead as i wasnt aware just how cheap it was to get one done, thought it was more expensive than what it actually is!

Just ordered both the a-pillar pod from Nomad Racing, and the polished strut brace from Forge Motorsport. Both should be at my house next week and fitted pretty much straight away!

Cant wait, first actual mods to my car!! :funk:

yeah must of been me. was my car parked right next to the track in between the 2 seating areas? didnt know the person in the golf though. One of my badges is a little wonky did go back to Seat just after i brought it to enquire and they said just to use a hairdryer and heat it up or take it to them and they will sort it for me

my a pillar pod was at my house this morning even before i woke up!! am very impressed. have got to spray the pillar black before i fit it as it is grey at the moment, so hopefully by the end of the week i will have it fitted.

my strut brace should be here tomorrow hopefully and that will get fitted pretty much straight away.

Here are the pics of my new Forge strut brace. Was really easy to fit, only took about 5 mins to do. Can feel a difference in the way the car handles.

Only problem i found was that it is a very tight fit over the standard air box. Went on fine in the end, but the airbox has been pushed down slightly.

After seeing the GolfGti-R in the VeeDub section, it gave me and idea as to what to do with me wheels. What do people think? The first pic (red and black wheels) is the same as the golf and the second is just with the spokes sprayed black. What do people prefer?

A plus point i didnt realise at first that i had forgotten, my interior is black with red stitching so would match nicely

Out of the 2, i prefer the red and black wheels. what do people prefer? Comments welcome
