Unfortunately I had to sell my leon due to a few money issues and she had a real thirst for fuel! So last saturday I made the 3 hour journey up north with the old man to collect 'Brenda' from another member of this site-stinky pete. Fair play to him he had really looked after her well and is one of the cleanest examples I have seen. He had owned her from new and was absolutely gutted to see her go but I promised to look after her :D The journey home made me remember why I loved mark 2's so much and had a permanent grin of my face I absolutely love driving her and no offence to all you leon owners out there but she is ten times for fun to drive in my opinion. First thing I did was give her a wash and a wax and she buffs up nicely although being kiwi yellow she has the inevitable panel fade in places, but still doesn't fail to turn heads i've noticed. Here are a few pics..

As you can probably tell she is completely standerd, the only two mods that I have planned for her are about a 40mm drop all round and a set of mark 3 cupra alloys in white, think she will look perfect then. If I could afford a full respray I would probably go for it but hey it might happen one day, as usual all comments and opionions greatly appreciated, Nick.

Really nice car, Kiwi is an aquired taste, but one I like... Keep it as original as poss, imo they look much better that way!

Mines no longer on the MK3 Cupra rims, I have a set of Seat Sport Speedline Corse rims on it now. I'm not 100% on how low mine is as I believe it was done by the supplying dealer when new... I reckon it's 30-35mm, no more.

Heres a few better pics from when I put the new wheels on:

Keep us updated on the Kiwi!

Nice, cant remember the last time I saw one in person.

Most seem to have been mistreated and look worse for wear now.

Thanks for all the comments, got the mark 3 cupra alloys arriving this week so will fit them asap, she will probably look a lot nicer with them! When it comes to lowering is it better to use springs or coilovers? and whats the difference? I'm new to this lowering lark because my last mark 2 had allready been lowered :)

Depends really whether you want to be able to adjust the height or not.

Both cheap springs and coilovers aren't going to do much for the handling, but a decent set of coilovers set up correctly will really improve things, as will a decent set of springs and shocks.

Bear in mind that if you use lowering springs on the standard struts, they will wear out quite quickly, so you should really buy suitable shocks too.

Really it depends on your budget but I would go for coilies personally.

Car looks nice, exactly the same as mine but mines silver.

Haha don't worry mate I will keep you updated on this thread, she will be looking stunning by christmas, mark 3 alloys arrived today (being painted gloss white end of next month), having the front grill sprayed up where the laquers peeling, and am trying to work out what suspension to go for to get rid of the tractor stance :p
