My Seat Ibiza Toca

Picked up my new Toca on Monday... Part ex'd my Focus C-Max for it which is a massive change.

So far I'm enjoying it, has a few nice touches which I'm happy with although it's taking some getting used to. The engine is a bit of a dog, but fuel economy is better, it's less tax and the insurance is better so what's to moan about, really?

Went with the emocion red as it is the free colour and I'm really happy that I did. Sits very well indeed. Well, maybe about 3" too high, but the red suits it. it came with the FR wheels as Seat decided to change the over for about a month or so before changing back so it looks a little better IMO.

Already fitted some HID's and LED side lights which have smartened it up a little more, next I'm looking to lower it a little, maybe 35mm using Apex springs but from searching the site they seem to get a hard time from members regarding ride quality... Maybe I need some others. Not sure whether to go the same all around or the 25/40mm split... Any opinions?

Other mods may include some vinyl work on the front and rear bumpers and maybe some aluminium mirror covers. Not sure yet though.

David - I picked up my TOCA last week too in monsoon grey though. Mine came with the FR wheels too, dealer said the cars they were taking delivery off had came with those wheels so couldn't complain. How you finding it?

Hi Tom. It's ok, still very new to me, but I'm enjoying it. Keep doing little bits to it. De-badged the boot earlier on, suprising how much difference it makes!

Yes, the engine is a bit of a dog but I'm getting used to it. Would have liked a TSi unit but they wanted another 2 grand for the FR so that put the dampers on it I'm affraid. T does for me and I'm enjoying the 47mpg.

Been looking into lowering it and I'm unsure which way to go. Was originally thinking about coilovers, but I'm now thinking of just springs. I doubt 20-30mm is going to be enough as the arch gap is near on 9-10cm!!!

Any thoughts?

About 2 minutes.

A quick going over with some Auto Glym Intensive Tar Remover and then some Auto Glym SRP and EGP and it was no more!

Going to get it lowered within the next month hopefully. The 45mm springs seem to be favourite, but having measured the wheel gap I'm still not convinced it's enough though. Having seen some others in other RR threads that have been lowered 30mm the arch gap is minimal... I'm confuzzled...

Mhmm, sweet! was wondering how my car'd look once debadged, lucky i came across this thread aha.

Not really looked into springs myself tbh, have you considered coilovers?

also, what do you use to edit you number plate pics?

I've looked at coilovers but for my budget I would be looking at the cheapest set and I think the ride will be too harsh... although they do go down 100mm. Lol.

I think 45mm would be ok. For £75 pluss fitting it seems worth a shot to me.

So, 600 odd miles and gave it a little bit of the loud pedal this morning upto about 5, 000rpm and it actually made me smile. not for any particular reason, just, because.

Looking forward to getting it lowered and fitting the induction kit.

Couple of other mods this month will be to wrap the mirrors, possible apply some fly eyes to the front lights (not sure I really like them that much though?) and maybe some yellow tint for the front fogs.

HID's and Debadge

Hi mate. Also got a Toca but mine is in black. Can you let me know where u got the HID's and also how you debadged the car e.g. do you just pull the badges of or is there a tool to use? Thanks

Hiya mate. Welcome to the forum.

The letters just came off then a little bit of tar remover to get rid of the glue residue. It never came with a Toca badge (luckily!!) so I didn't have to worry about that one.

HID's are from eBay mate. I got the h7's, but on reflection (no pun intended!) I should have got the h7r due to not having projectors.

Not really much happened with the car for a month or two, a few other things have took over with any disposable income I have. Lol.

Btw, if you want to make the debadging easier then you can heat the letters up with a hair dryer or heat gun then use some dental floss or fishing line to 'cut' behind the letters.
