So, the time has come to ditch the 64bhp SDi and upgrade to something a little more fun.

This is 9 hours work, so Day 1-

The SDi has been removed and given to a local lad who has a broken SDi..

Inside is stripped for me to get to all the wiring.

This was problem number 1, the van was a AYQ sdi, so had FBW accelerator peddle and a hydro clutch, so i have had to remove and swap out the peddle box..
You can see the difference in the picture, both peddles will take a cable, but only one of them has the bracket for the cable fitted.

I have swapped part E for part F, part F has a extra plug, this will be for the MAF on the petrol clocks/switches.

Next was the brake master cylinder, the old one has a pipe for hydro clutch that i didnt need, so a quick swap, problem solved.

And that is the end of day 1

cheers peeps..
Ibizaboi, it isnt what i would call rapid, but it's plenty fast enough for a van. it was never going to be as quick as a decent speced 20vt, but it was never meant to be, there is only one good reason to fit the VR6 engine and that is the sound.

New wheels look sick, love the project, the enthusiasm and all the SEAT love :) - Could you just fit two rear seats? and have em fold-downable..? (for the kids)

Luke, i have rear seats for it (the mk2/3 ibiza) fit pretty much straight in, just not really sure if i want to put them in, as soon as i do I will have to start carrying passengers and taking the kids places.

Seastormer, it'll never be "finished" but it's at that point when i can actually drive it, will have to see what happens next.

Yeh I had to use it for work this morning. The missus has sold her car so is using my shitter as there isnt any chance i would let her drive this.
I normally have a work van, but i've been off for a week so need to arrange someone to pick me up one morning so i can bring my work van home.

lol, yeh it gets a few looks.. it isnt the fastest thing i've ever owned, bot for a 12 year old van it goes quite well..

I've done a few other bits to it recently too.. mainly mounts and bushes, changed the front coilover springs too miniblock type springs too so it's actually quite a pleasant drive and doesnt try and snap your spine every time you drive over a catseye on the motorway..

just got to work out if i want to keep it or sell it now.

New engine mounts and top mounts

now you are talking my language, my main build is a mk2 golf that will be running an AQN turbo and awd (gotta source a suitable turbo) so I gotta ask what sort of spec is the jetta going to be?
