Hi there

I have used Nattys Blue paste wax before which was pretty decent, lasts a good 2-3 mths and leaves a good finish.....

My question, whats better for a black Ibiza Fr, nattys blue or their limited edition Red?

Or what other wax's about the same price, or ideally under £25ish can some one suggest which will be as good as or better than Nattys Blue? By the sounds of it Collinite 476 doesnt last as long as it should do... (from Finerdetails Biggest wax test thread)

thanks everyone

Nick

i think the nattys blue is a damn good wax for the money and its supposed to be for darker cars i think if you look on polished bliss.

just had a look at both products on www.polishedbliss.co.uk and theye dont mention any difference apart from the red is limited edition with only 1000 jars beeing made for 2008. best bet is if you can still get it just go for it and try it as it is only £3 of difference between red and blue

I've used both & the difference is with the colour of the wax & their smells, couldnt see any difference in their finish or life span.

What do you want from a wax, lifespan, or pure bling shine ?

Life span = Collinite 915

Pure Bling = Pinnicle Souveran Wax

Both are in or around your price point...

Jace, Life span of 3mths ideally. Nattys blue seemed to just about do that, and also looked decent.

915 may be an option, does it have a decent appearance like Nattys blue paste wax? that seemed to look decent.

915 is the best option, you should get 3 months with ease I'd say, get a couple of layers down to start with. It works much better on Black than 476.

A few pic's of 915 on my old Golf, if that helps convince you ;)

ok, when you say a couple of layers down, do you mean wax, then leave to cure, then wax again and leave to cure? Or wax, cure, wipe off, then wax, cure, wipe off??? Never double layered a wax before.

Cheers for the pictures, looks as good as the result I got from Nattys Blue, looks like ill be ordering Collinite 915 for the winter then!

Best method is whats known as spit & shine, it goes like this:

Apply 1st layer of wax (must be a solid carnuaba based wax)

Dont remove yet

Spritz with a chilled quick detailer (this will harded the wax layed down)

Apply 2nd layer of wax over the quickdetailer/1st layer wax.

Buff off

You now have 2 layers of wax down, applying on their own would me layer #2 would remove part of layer #1, this way the chilled QD prevents that from happening.

ah ok thanks. When the first layer of wax is applied, it looks smeary etc as wax does when first applied (usually then buffed off and paint looks like glass).

Does this sneary look not show through when you then apply the 2nd layer?

Thanks

as jace said pinnacle are some of the best waxes suited for black signiture sereise 2 has to seen to be beleived!!with a good 3 months protection fron one layer.
