misread this first time.

you want to keep the 3" downpipe, which currently has a decat and put in a cat?

first thing you need to find out is if the downpipe and decat pipe are seperates?

do you have the cat already? is it stock or ready made to fit a 3" downpipe?

okay ill give more info , sorry haha

basically right now i have standard Downpipe , Standard Cat and Miltek cat back exhaust

what i want is Miltek 3" downpipe and De-cat.

Hi-Flow Cat is not a option Due to Cost and hit/miss if they even pass a MOT

well thats not what you asked is it?
To get a straight answer you need a striaght question...

so its actually the opposite of what you asked in post 1?

If so i can understand the variance in answers, which i had when i askeda around for the same thing.
If a garage knows what they are doing then apparantly its possible without dropping sub frame, but most places will do this and so geometry set up is needed afterwards.
Can say if you could do this yourself, i suspect you would struggle.
Bolts snapping when doing this is not uncommon.

however i still dont understand what you want, as you say a sports cat is not an option due to these struggling with MOTs.. yet you will be fitting a decat which will definately fail!?

also piper, do a 200 cell sports cat, rather then the normal 100 cell for sports cat... i would imagine a pipe downpipe and cat is not much more than a miltek downpipe and decat.

the reason i ask is for switching over at MOT stage , sorry i clearly didnt explain myself enough , sorry.

basically what im wanting to do is have

3" downpipe - Decat - Turbo back exhaust

then when it comes to MOT switch the old Cat in then switch back after MOT

i said that the highflow wouldnt work for cost and that sometimes (ive been told) that not even they pass MOT , the reason for me saying this was because a highflow cat would be going in and staying but since theres mixed views on them passing or not i may as well just get a decat if i will need to switch it over anyway.

that explain it better :S?

If you buy a milltek 3"dp and decat, you will not be able to just refit the original cat to get the MOT done, it won't fit back on without the original dp.

The original dp and cat has a 2 pipe design where as the aftermarket milltek dp and decat has a single pipe design.

Sorry to hijack fella, just a quick question I need answering as we are talking about exhausts & DP. The car when I purchased already had a Miltek system with scorpion decat.....unsure though if DP has been replaced! But just wondering if you can buy the DP on its own as I've only seen with Decat or sports car included & if so where from?!? Thanks

Milltek only do a 200-cell cat in the high flow DP now, they used to (as in 3/4 years ago) do a 100 cell version.

Never had any problems passing MOT on emissions with the Milltek :)

Would it be a pain to change on all exhaust systems or are you all referring to miltek?

Just a pig of a job in general due to the location of d/p on back of engine, lot of hassle just for an hour to get it threw an mot. a sports cat is just as good if you ask me. Plus no mot problems and massive torque gains

what i did was i kept my original DP and cat, so i could put them back on come MOT time.

me and my mate had the old cat and DP off in about 10mins :)

The LC dp and cat is a piece of cake compared to the LCR one.

As far as I know scorpion only do this type of decat for an LCR:

I reckon you still have the original DP mated to a scorpion decat then milltek cat back.

You can buy the DP seperate to the CAT/DECAT pipe from milltek but in your case I don't think it's gonna fit.

Hmmmmmm well that's a b1atch!!

Am I guessing it won't fit due to the end splitting? Is that what the original DP does?

Hmmmm if so I'm thinking custom 3" DP to fit Decat & easy enough to swap over for MOT?

This picture explains it better:

Milltek, pipewerx and most other after Market 3"dp's look like the one on the left. The original is on the right. Piper do a 3"dp to fit the original "split" cat, but it costs a fortune.

Here's the 3" piper direct replacement dp BUT it costs £465 for the dp alone.
