need help? non res or res cobra cat back?

Resonated tends to make it less raspy and more throaty in my experience. Don't have direct experience of cobra exhausts though.

What have you got LC180 or LCR ?
Basically id base your choice on whether your car has the standard cat , or whether youve changed the downpipe/decat it.
Mine is a LC180, with 3 inch downpipe/decat and resonated cobra system, this makes it quite subtle yet has a nice tone when casual driving its only really loud when on boost and throwing it about, now if id have chosen to still keep the CAT id have gone non resonated, simply because it would be far too quiet with the CAT still fitted and resonated, its all down to preference, if you like it loud de-cat it and fit non resonated system, if you like it humble yet the noise to be there when having fun with it, either fitted a resonated system or keep the cat and fit non resonated.

If I was getting one now, I'd probably go resonated. I just prefer the tone personally.
My non res isn't that loud to be honest. On full chat it's no shrinking violet, but under normal use it's pretty subtle still.
If your keeping the CAT on defo go non resonated as i think itl be too quiet with resonated, it will be slightly louder but be more of a looks exhaust than sound, im suprised how quiet mine is 3" inch turbo back stainless, resonated but no baffle backbox, its got one tiny can in the centre pipe and unless im giving it beans you wouldnt think it had an exhaust on it !
Its a lcr225 mate, and it will still hae the standard cat plus standard down pipe, some usull infohave u got a cat back double-6s or wat? Still dont knoe now with both saying either lol cheers

i have a de-cat and non res center section. basically straight through to a very minimal baffled back box. it burbles on overrun and has a nice humm on tick over. when you get it in the cruising zone its quite civilised but when accelerating its quite loud and if you give it some stick it sounds mental. tunnel runs never get boring
also i find that because there is nowhere for fuel to gather in a silencer in the center i get the odd pop and bang.
i only have a 3" downpipe reducing down to a 2.5" system but ill be doing the rest in 3" which will increase the bass in the exhaust a little.

Cobra themselves say to go for a resonated version to avoid cabin drone (check their site). I just ordered me a Cobra catback yesterday via eBay (reonated version)
Its a tad cheaper from eBay for me:

When u say loud, do you mean loud as in honda loud?
i wouldnt say as loud as a honda. well compared to a ek9 civic its not as loud that was using a spoon exhaust system. that was always loud no matter what. when i cruise and im not adjusting the throttle its quite normal. well a bit louder than normal. but when you floor it its prtty loud and even slowly increasing speed its pretty loud. i do have a video on you tube but the windows are open and you get a false sense of how loud it is.

i did not rag the car or break any spped limits. it was just a basic demonstration of what it sounds like. ill try posting a better vid soon.
