Need help sourcing a replacement engine

hi,

as some of you may already know my seat ibiza engine died, the car is now at a garage were my friend works waiting to have a new engine fitted,

i am trying to find a good condition AKK 1,4 mpi engine with low-ish mileage but i am not having much luck,

so i thought wot better place to find out about seat ibiza engines than the seat ibiza forum,


does anyone know of any breakers or engine refurbishers were i could get one of theese engines from for a good price??

wot should i be looking at paying for the engine and wot are things to look out for when buying an engine??

i live in essex and the car is currently at a garage in southend on sea but we have a van and are prepared to drive to pick the engine up as long as its not too far,


any help with this would be apreciated,

Got mine from here dirt cheap when i had to. Cost me £275 delivered for an AUD engine with 18,000 on the clocks

right i have just done a search on autotrader.co.uk and i have found a few 1.4 seat engines,

my ibiza has an AKK 1.4 8v mpi engine, does that mean i have to get an AKK engine for it or would i be able to use a AUD 1.4 8v mpi??

the reason i ask is that i have found loads of AUD engines that are pretty cheap with low miles but the AKK engine seems to be abit rare, or it costs more,

the AUD i have found is only £150 were as AKK engines seem to be around £250-£300,

if someone could help me with this it would be great, i would like to go ahead and buy an engine for it tomorow really, i cnt wait to be back on road with it,

right i found and bought a new engine yesterday, i expecting it to be delivered tuesday so as soon as it arrives were gunna crack on with fitting it,

i got a pretty good deal,

£250 delivered with 3 months warranty , its only done 26,000 miles and its an AKK, also it comes with full service history up to the 26k


i cnt wait to have my seat back,

i have also bought a leather interior including door card and dash from a cupra and a set of cupra wheels with tyres for £250 for the lot, so it will be rolling out of the garage looking better than ever
