cambelts on the pd150 engine should be inspected/changed every 40k, ive just paid 7.5k for a fully serviced tdi cupra in black with 70k on the clock its a 04 plate

So its possible this one has already had one done at 40k
The seller is asking £6k for this

i rang the garage that serviced mine and they had a record of all the servicing mine was changed at 42k, im having mine changed again next month at a independant garage in stoke £120 for the belt and tensioner, just for my own peace of mind really. if the car your looking at is standard and clean i think that is a cheap price. the local dealer in stoke has a 04 cupra in black the same as mine with 38k on the clock for £10995!!
Thats cheap @ £120, is that including parts and are they a known garage?
Its just if i decide to get this, i need to get the belt, tensioner and pump changed ASAP
6k is a good deal, is the car straight with fsh etc ?
By the way the belt should be Changed at 60k according to Seat but in my oppinion it should be left no longer than 50k. £120 for a cam belt change sounds suspiciously cheap too.

the car is straight with full SEAT history.
Im going Monday hopefully for an inspection
I was offered 5.5k for mine 3 weeks ago its 04/04 and at that time had done 111k mine has a fantastic history with almost 5.5k in bills so your 53 car with 81k for 6k sounds good

£120 is for the cam belt and tensioner if i opted for the water pump aswell that would be extra are the waterpumps driven off the cam belt on the pd engines? if so i would have that changed aswell as i had a bad time many years ago with my xr3i.
I was quoted £250 all in from Midland VW last time I enquired
Just done a check on www.motinfo.gov.uk and all comes back ok. Just got to phone the dealer who did the services to check them and do a good inspection of it.
It has come back HPI clear - so seems clean on paper

Spoke to 2 different SEAT garages, one said 60k interval other said 80k interval for cambelt change
I know, personally I wouldnt either
I have spoken to the dealerships who have serviced them, the first from 10k - 50k said they would have done it at 60k, the second did the 60k and 70k service who said its due at the next service of 80k
If I get it, it will get it done straight away - have got a price back of £250 inc waterpump change from a SEAT Dealership
that's a bargain if inc VAT & labour, where is this??? as Seat Oswestry today offered me £400 to have all that done.
Really would like to use specialist but nobody near me and can't afford day off work to do it and sit in a garage waiting to be done.

I emailed him and he said the said garage will do it for £250, I asked for belt tensioner and pump change - bargain
