New 150 owners , questions on mods

First of all hello to everyone here , had my Leon fr 150 around 2 months now after a horrible buying experience through evans halshaw,

Now after trawling through these forums and try to piece together as much info as possible I'm still confused on some issues

So first of all

Left stalk, mine has. Switch I can push to the left which has res on to off, no idea what it does , will post a picture up unless anyone knows ,

I'd like to get cruise control fitted but can't seem to see anyone in the Norfolk area . Anyone know of anybody? Seat dealer say they've never fitted it to a car so can't give me a price

3 button key , same question , see lots of part numbers on here so which one would be correct?
I know some have got it to work the boot and some haven't

fuel warning , anyway to turn off the beep?

Thats a cruise control stalk, how have you tried it?

I thought fr was fitted with cruise control !

As for key fob if you have a 3 button 1 you can buy a 2 button case for it,i have a 2 button flip key but the circuit board in it is a 3 button 1

I have a 2 button non flip, and one on remote key , would like a extra key that's a flip one with 3 buttons and would hopefully do the boot, also any way to u do the boot with the engine running

The stalk you have is a cruise control stalk, there are at least two designs. That one is identical to the one I had on my old Toledo TDI 110. The one you refer to above, 1J0998527A, is like the one that was fitted to my current car, a Toledo TDI 150 Sport, by a previous owner.

Cruise control isn't "sporty" and I don't think it came as standard on the FR or Cupra TDI - though it was probably an option you could add on when you were buying it.

The labels mean On, Off (obvious, really), Set - and Resume + . With the switch in the On position, get into top gear and press the Set key at the speed you want to cruise at. Doesn't need a long press. Foot off the pedal and you should stay at the set speed, up hill and down dale.

Pressing clutch or brake pedals will disconnect cruise control and accelerating to a higher speed for any length of time will also disconnect it. Slide the key to the left Res position to resume your preset cruising speed.

If yours doesn't work, then either someone has added the stalk but not connected it (the diesels all have the loom in place already, I believe) or it has not been switched on in the ECU. Someone with VCDS can help you with the latter.

do you have to be in top gear for cruise control to work?

so if i see it correctly i should just move the switch over to on ( obiosuly) and just press set and that should be it,

Ill try again tonight see if im just being stupid,

Problem is the last owner had a parrot system installed, also a ipod lead , and who knows what else so he may have even started on the cruise control,

so i thought id start again and find somehwere in norfolk who could provide the later stalk and install ,

And here's the part number you quoted, which is the only stalk you can get now I think

The lower stalk has a rocker switch on the end giving you both "Set -" and "Res +" on the end of the stalk. That's the only difference as far as I can tell, the relocation of the "Res +" function to the end of the stalk.

You don't have to be in top gear for it to work, but as soon as you hit the clutch to change gear it will disconnect. Cruising in fifth gear (out of six) is poor on fuel economy and has no obvious benefits.

Yes, with the slide switch set to "On", press the Set button to set your cruise speed.

Once you're in cruise control, the + and - buttons (i.e. Set and Res) allow you to fine-tune the cruise speed.

will try take it on a dual caridge way later and try, im sure i have before and cant get anything, simple to move the on to off, the set button however wont push in very far, it seems to be linked to the on/off button and doesnt have a up down, so cant see a way to increase/decrease the cruise speed,

if i ge tnothing will just buy a stalk and install package somewhere,

well think i can confirm its not working

so i can only assume either somethings failed / previos owner done half a job

So need to find a place in norwich,

once you get used to cruise you'll never back... cant live without it!
try driving at a set speed and ensure its switched to on, then press the end of the stalk and the speed should be maintained, press it in again to lower speed, press knob towards res and hold to increase speed.

First step I would take is find someone local with VCDS and see if cruise is switched on in the ECU. I don't know what the wiring changes look like so I can't tell you exactly where to look, but you should be able to trace added wiring from the stalk to a connection in the loom, or perhaps as far as the ECU.
