Hi guys,
Thought I'd best start my own thread in this section seeing as I collected my Altea on Saturday !!
The car is an '06 SEAT Altea 2.0 TDi Sport (manual) in Black Magic, with only 14k on the clock

Spotted the car on Seat.co.uk a couple of weeks ago down at Francis SEAT in Leicester. So I rang them up and asked if it was still available (which it was!), and arranged to go down a see it the following Tuesday evening after work after paying a small 'refundable' deposit to hold the car for me until I got down there.
I actually went down on the Bank Holiday Monday to have a look at the car due to having nothing else to do for the day! Spoke to one of the sales guys, and said I'd paid a deposit etc, and was supposed to be viewing it on Tuesday, but would it be ok to test-drive it now.....
Took it out for a spin around Leicester, and I was pleasantly surprised.
Got back to the dealers, and had a good look round the bodywork etc, and looked for all the common problems that everyone has commented on on here
(thanks guys!) Tyres all had even wear, loads left on the brake pads etc.
The only problems I spotted were a few scuffs and a small crack on the rear bumper, and the windscreen had started to go white at the bottom
Said to the guy that took us out, that I would ring up the other guy that I had been dealing with, and discuss the car
Rang up on the Tuesday, and Paul @ Francis SEAT was extremely helpful, and said that he had already organised for the bumper to be fixed and resprayed, and for the windscreen to be replaced under warranty (all included in the price!)
He also said that they would put 6months tax on the car, and put in a few litres of diesel
I did ask if there was anything he could do on the price, but in fairness to him, he did say that the car would have gone to auction the weekend prior, if I hadn't called up about it, and the reserve at Auction would have been the asking price. So I agreed to buy the car at the advertised price of £10,700
Gave them a few days to get everything sorted, and then went down to collect it on Saturday morning. Again, Paul was extremely helpful, and collected me from the train station in Leicester.
Got back to the dealership, and sorted out all the paperwork etc, and about 30mins later I was on my merry way back up the M1 to Derby.
Got back, and the 1st thing I did was get all my washing kit out and gave it a good clean and wax . Unfortunatley I'd ran out of clay-bar, so I'll have to do it all again next weekend when I've got some
1st 3 mods have already been carried out....
1: C4 stubby (65mm) aerial fitted, as detailed over in the Mk2 Leon section
2: Seatcupra.net sticker fitted
3: Dealer sticker removed from rear window
Plans:
Debadge rear and wings
Fit some Seat mats
SEAT Sport sill covers
Black front grille from 'seremotors' and also the black honeycombe grille backing
Possibly the chrome tailgate trim (still not sure on this)
Longer term plans:
Suspension
Wheels
Re-map
Yes I know: "This Thread Is Useless Without Pics"
Will hopefully have chance to pop out this evening to get a few snaps
