I have been thinking of buying a TDI FR 170 for sometime now and have seen a nice car with the wheels I am after. Could anyone give me some tips on what I should look out for when veiwing the car. Only has 13,000 on a late 56 plate ( how much shout I expect to pay )

If i buy then I think I have to do the honest thing and add the side skirts ( anyone know how much this is likely to cost )

Thanks

what wrong with them, is it a car I should not buy or is there something that you do not like about them?????

Nothing mate there are spot on, mine is not an FR its the 140bhp sport with the bodykit and alloys. I want a Cupra - end of.

bored of Deisels - want some petrol power.

Look for one with bluetooth, you will know if it has bluetooth as it has a large screen in between the fuel and temperature gages. (not underneath them!)

sorry to hijack the thread, but im in the same position. i love my mk3 ibiza, but im looking for something a bit more... well usefull / grown up. looking at a 56 plate 2.0 TDI 140 with aero kit and sports pack looks in great nick but, what are the problems with them... every car has them!

am i doing the right thing and looking at that type of car or should i be looking some where else for a diesel ?

Sounds like you should be sending Plasmaman a PM with an offer m8!!

They are fantastic cars, not without their problems (is any car) but if you want great looks and a great drive you won't go far wrong for the money imo

there is a thread on here about all the good stuff and all the bad stuff, a good read through them should help you make a decision.... then when you have PM Plasmaman (do i get a %?)

Yea, yea, for the record lads i get a car allowance, £571 per month. The Cupra wasnt out when i bought mine (from new may i add) so i couldnt wait and settled for that one. Im 30, full no claims and pay 480 full comp - awesome car in fairness 40mpg urban and 60 mpg on the motorway.

Drove a Cupra last weekend and blew my away - just love it, my pockets are very deep, who cares you cant take it with you!!!

Spursdave? %????????? lol, your a funny guy - i may send you a fiver for a 4 pack on the recommendation, seriously cheers though.

ahhh. im 21, nearly 4 yrs ncb, no convictions or anything... paying £700 all mods declared

that is on a blooming 1.4 mk3 aswell. and mpg.... dont even go there :(

On a serious note Adam i havent had any problems with mine, the 140 engine is "supposed" to be a fantastic engine if you want the Revo remap - think it takes it up to 185 with a stupid amount of torque. I toyed with the idea of keeping it but when a Cupra goes over 300bhp - phew bye bye diesel.

anyway i have given you my number so if you want to chat then feel free (no obligation) i will sell her either way as shes mint

yea tis very tempting.. its just the money side of things... not sure if its a good thing to get a £7k loan out for a car when im trying to save for a house.... but im so bored of my car :( :banghead:

btw i know the 2.0 tdi's are a good engine.. had one as a loan car a little while back and it was amazing. (was a VW golf 2.0 TDI GT sport) it muched up the front tyres as i was not used to driving a car with that much torque an power...

after all my car v's the 2.0 tdi..

65 bhp, 70 torque

vs

138bhp and 236 lb/ft
