New Brake Shoes/Cylinder Time?

When I've been sat on the brake for a while, and take my foot off and accelerate there is a high pitched noise coming from under the car. This noise stops after a reach 20mph + or if I then tap the brakes.

Also, for the first time yesterday I heard a clunk from the back when I took the hand brake off in the morning.

From previous experience on my 306, I believe this is my brake shoes/cylinders that are starting to go. Could anyone back me up on this theory? Usually, I source/buy the replacements myself and then get my independent garage to fit them but I've not had to buy much for my Leon yet, so any tips on what and where to buy replacements? (Obviously, I will get them to double check my theory before ordering new parts).

The leon has rear disk brakes so won't have shoes. It could be that the brakes are sticking on and they need to be dismantled and cleaned up. The pads may need replaced at the same time.

I didn’t realise that, although my 306 did have drums on the rear so it would make sense!

I think the pads are quite new all around, so unless a take apart and clean does the trick - what else could it be?
