Hi, finally after three months my Ibiza SC has arrived, im supposed to be picking it up tomorrow although that does seem unlikely now, received a phonecall earlier saying i have to pay another £300 which i dont actually have, as far as i can recall i agreed to pay £1500 but that figure has risen to £1800 for some reason, also the price of the car was around £11560 but that seems to have risen to over £11800 as i have options i didnt even ask for, has this happened to anyone else ?

rings a bell, didn't someone have issues recently with wheels fitted that were not an ordered option ?

the dealer wanted them back apparently

ask them to show you the order and invoice, they must have written down what you agreed to pay and what options you asked for, if there is anything else on top you shouldnt have to pay it

If the dealer made the mistake then they should carry the cost as far as I am concerned and if you have signed paperwork can they really force you to pay more???!!!!!

Im just slightly annoyed because the £300 was set aside for my first payment next month and now im going to have to use it tomorrow meaning illl have to set aside another £300 for the first payment, i only found out afew hours ago and im getting the car tomorrow morning which doesnt leave me much time to get to my bank, this is the first car ive bought new but it seems like alot of hastle.

if you signed on the dotted line for the original amount (not including the 300) then just blatently refuse to pay it, that is awful customer service IMO

you should only pay what you have agreed to pay, you shouldnt cover the cost of a factory mistake that should be the company,

what would be the point in signing the agreement if they can just add what they want

I was looking forward to getting my first new car but its been a complete farse from the beginning, i never had any build dates or anything, i only found out the car had arrived because i went to enquire and noticed it round the back. How should i go about the £300, i need to look at all paperwork and if its not there refuse to pay it ?

it sounds like shoddy customer service that, are you going to name and shame the dealers,

i would kick off for a start about them not telling you the car had arrived, and yeah if the paper work is there with your signature without that extra 300 then you dont have to pay it, they are bound by your signature on the agreement they originally created

It's a Dobies, a number of friends and collegues have recently told me they have bought cars from a dobies branch aswell and there comments weren't that good.

umm to me this is taking the full....I'd refuse to pay the extra 300quid.... If they stuffed up your order then tough sh1t3....& they should foot the bill & you should get a bonus option... just my 2p worth.

Try SEAT HO?? never know your luck :)

Just one quick question to add, do carpet mats come as standard now as ive been led to believe they are, just so i can make sure i get them ?

Make sure all the other options you have ordered are on the car and that the Climate Control option has not replaced one of them !

I take it you paid a deposit - and they got you to agree to the total figure - if they do not supply a car as the order states - as people have said above they have a problem not you.

No problem just a small extra discount you maybe should have been given anyway. :) They can take it out of the member of staffs wages for making the screw up !

It hasn't got anything to with the new VAT rate has it?

Also do you not have the hand written quotation? I got one which myself and the salesman signed. This doubles as a price protection promise. You need to dig this out ASAP.
