New car paint treatment

Hi everybody,

Right i should pick up my new car in the next week or two and as i have an 11 month old son, washsing and polishing it every weekend is not going to be that easy .

So i was woundering what products/pakages do you lot recomend for exteriour and interiour protection on a new car, and also is there any companys around the norfolk/suffolk area that can be trusted to apply the products?

The dealers have offered me the Autoglym lifeshine pakage but they want 225 quid for it , and to me that seems a bit overpriced when you can get the full kit off the net for under 100.

Your best bet would be to get CarLack 68 nano synthetic care and the CarLack 68 Pure Sealant. This should keep the protection on there for quite a long time.

Alternatively get a detailer to do a "new car protection" treatment on it.

first thing you need to do is make sure the dealer prep doesnt inflict too much damage to the paint... usually they take a dirty sponge to the car and cover it in scratches and swirls.

anyway, hoping that the paint is left is a decent state on collection you should be fine to just get a decent hard wearing wax or sealant onto it.

one of the most durable waxes i know of is Collinite 476s. This stuff costs about £15 for a tin and will give you a good 4-6 months or protection on the paint surface.

you could also top that wax layer with something like DoDo Juice Red Mist. This is a solvent based sealant which you need to apply at least 48 hours after the wax has been applied (to ensure full curing of the wax) and that will boost the durability up further. The red mist is around £10 for the tropical version, which i would recommend for a newbie
