Didnt like the elise when i sat in one lol couldnt get out of the bloody car! let alone the interior looks cheap and tacky. apart from that looks awesome from the outside. Ever considered the astra VX220 ?

My mate has a scooby and he is on his 4th engine , he has had the car for a year and a half , IMO i wouldnt buy a scooby unless it was a p1 , and if u buy a p1 make sure it has had a engine rebuilb , as you have to rebuild the engine every 60,000 , as they starve there self of oil when they hit that milage ,

my mate as had a scooby for 3 years without any probs its now clocking up 89000
not heard that before.

was it like a dark blue purple colour ? my brother looks after one in this area thats has had SHED loads of cash spent on it and is very well looked after by the guy . last time it was in the owner cancelled his honeymoon to pay for it  his new wife wasn't too amused i can tell ya - £5 says it's for sale due to honeymoon :)

no , it was white , a salvage yard had it in as a part ex and my mate was interested in it , he ended up buying a s4 , he said the car was amazing to drive though , handled like it was on tracks

might just be my mate ramping his car , thats the only thing that ever put me of buying one , as i was going to buy a p1 , i gotta say those p1s are stupidly quick , and i love the sound of the exhausts on the subarus ,

S3 is a good bet and they are a good price now. I'd get a new one but can't afford the petrol or the money anymore with the house. Had 18 A8's on and people looked, allot. I adored the car and spent a good £4-5k on it getting remaps, brakes, tyres, wheels, filters, dump valves, trim covers, blah blah. Had a major 'Incedent' and was off work for 8 months and lucky to drive again (It wasn't driving related, ex girlfriend related!) so I had to sell her, as in the car  not the girlfriend nobody would but her
Great to drive the S3 and the Leon floating it's way across the sea has allot to live up to although it's never going to corner like the Audi. You point that car in a direction and put your foot down and it's exactly the way it will go, and f:censored:g fast!!!! Remapped with extras to around 265bhp from the 210 standard that my model was but you'd get a 225bhp standard for 10/12k.

nice car, but I personally think that the S3 is starting to look a little dated now.. (puts fire suit on!)

also there is a major water problem with the S3. Water somehow leaks through the passenger door into the passenger foot well. My bro was looking into buying one and everyone he came across had damp carpets in passenger well, asked his mate in a garage about it and he told him there are faults with the passenger door

I agree with the comment about the S3 starting to look dated still a nice car never the less i did look at them but wrote it off pretty quickly. Im so undecided on what to do. My intention was to keep the cupra for 3 years, ive not even had it a year yet! I love the car cant fault it in anyway but i just like the idea of having a new car :D, I think if i do decide on a new car its either going to be a elise or the VX220 if i can find a good one for my budget. Or.... keep the cupra and forfill my plans, get the wheels sprayed arthrite (spelling) lower, colour code bumpstrips and get the k03s custom mapped.

We have a S1 elise, in blue, full service history and mum and dad are looking at selling it aswell soon. If your interested, give us a pm and ill get some pictures spec etc for you if you want???

Never had the problem with the door leaking on my S3. There is still allot you can do to make them look less dated but ok, with the new S3 out now even more so it does show it's age a little. Think I'm biased though as I got the call today and the Leon will be here Thurs pick up Tues if plates sorted heehee! Yeah and ok I just wanted to post somewhere it was arriving ;)

I also have a similar budget but also have a baby on the way so my priorities are 'slightly' different ;)

Im gonna be getting a leon cupra r as my next car.. I just think they look so good

alot of good ideas but all a bit tame really.

id be looking at a TVR or cobra replica. somthing very different and most deffinatly life threatening.

to be honest no i have a bike licence id be looking at 2 wheel options and having a decent oil burner for driving around in.

Id keep the car david for the time being. For the money you have to spend I dont think you can buy better.

You may get faster or better looking but will it be as new or reliable?

If you could get a few more £££ to spend and wanted something properly different and fast you could look at lotus carltons!:wtf:

Although running costs and insurance may hamper you:lol:

Would certainly be 'different';)

I am very tempted with a lotus elise at the moment, wouldnt be until january though. Not sure about there reliability though havent really read much into them at the moment. Im still not sure if i could part with my car as i reckon its going to look pretty tasty if i get my plans finished! :D. I do have a full bike license aswell but a bikes out of the question until i get my own place! would be nice though!
