Had a chance to see the new 2026 CUPRA Born VZ facelift in the showroom today and thought I’d share a few impressions.

Pictures really don’t do it justice - it looks much more aggressive in person. The updated front end, revised details and overall stance give it a noticeably sharper look compared with the pre-facelift Born. The VZ-specific touches also make it look properly sporty without going too overboard.

The interior was equally impressive. The updated details and VZ treatment make it feel a lot more special than the standard Born, and the seats in particular look fantastic.

Has anyone else seen the 2026 facelift yet? What do you think of the new VZ? And would you choose it over the outgoing model?

Yes, I had the press car Born VZ for a week, second week of August and Scott had it the week before for his amazing review. I drove the VZ around 600 miles on various A roads and motorway. Very much a GT with decent 3.8 kWh mile average lowest was 3.6 on the motorway. No faster than the old VZ just .1 or .2 kWh more economical per mile. Found it refined and very comfortable on long journeys handled well on twisty roads as well. Its an incremental step and refinement from the pre-facelift Born infotainment system does as both Scott and I found but I am sure settle over time with updates.

Interior door cards were the biggest difference interior wise for me and the return of real buttons on the steering wheel and window switches. Felt more premium overall than our Born V1. New Android did feel a tad less responsive than our 2025 Born which has the updated 12.9 infotainment system. I also like the new 10 inch driver display, used it allot to display maps and energy consumption same as I do in my Ibiza. Cracking car even in V1 guise with V2 probably the sweet spot unless you want VZ performance.
