new cupra options

Called in at dealer saturday and was talking to sales manager about new cupra.(he is still trying to sell me one)anyway i mentioned that it didnt look special enough which is when it got interesting,he went on to say that its not official yet but seat are bringing out the btcc body kit look for the cupra,engine upgrade power hike to 300bhp and brake upgrade kit,although he wouldnt say too much about this but it went along lines of bigger brembo calipers,and it would be all available through the dealer and as such wouldnt affect warranty.Wouldnt say how soon it was available but its in the pipeline for early next year.Anyway i was very interested and said if seat do what you are talking about then the new cupra sounds alot better all of a sudden.Anyone else heard of such rumors from dealers?

I've never credited dealers with an over abundance of knowledge to do with their own cars.

Sounds like the rumours that were around at this time last year!

I wouldn't bank on it.

But Vauxhall do something similar, would be nice if they did do it!

what a load of bollocks as usual, if thats true i'll eat my hat.

Appparently the LCR brembo's arnt as good as the standard brakes anyway...

Well he said the body kit is aready factory approved and thats available very soon as dealer fit option,and i think some dealers already offer a superchips power upgrade for mk1 and 2 cupras which doesnt affect warranty,as far as brakes it could always be bigger brembo calipers,like 6 pot ones,although when i drove a new cupra on a test drive i think the brakes were over servo'd and as such gave a false impression of being powerfull ,but this is just my opinion,the worst thing about cupra r brembos is the crap pads they fit at factory which arnt up to the job,ive fitted ferodo pads and all i can say is once ferodos have a bit of heat in them you soon realise why the brembos are better

Yep dealer said to me they were talking about a BTCC kit for the FR and the Cupra but didnt know when it was coming or even whether they were going to do it.

Seat do an ecu upgrade on the continent but its not available here.
