The story continues - 2nd SEAT was a Leon FR in Black Magic. A real speed machine, so much so some toerags broke in for the keys while we were out and took it for a getaway car  Recovered 7 days later after a high speed chase, gearbox shot, clutch burnt out, and lots of damage. Ins co paid £6.5k to mend it, superb repair job (Flints in Long Eaton) but it didn't feel like mine anymore so did straight swap for........... to be continued

Buf, sad history, sorry :(

Went out in the new Cupra last night and I find that I have become one of those people I hate to be behind in a queue in the dark - you have to keep your foot on the brake pedal so you can change back to D if you've put it in N - grrrr!

You could put handbrake on but then you still have to put foot back on brake briefly to move gearshift

Bet you were gutted... But, at least you've got the Cupra now though! :D

Erm, just keep your foot on the brake and in "d" mode...............

I think that was his point, it's annoying being sat behind someone who keeps their brake lights shining in your face rather than using the handbrake and he doesn't want to be one of "those people" ?

Could do - but see comment from nightflight which is spot on, and the handbook says don't leave it in "D" if you are stopped for more than a short while eg at traffic lights :)

Fair comment - i had not realised it was an issue before but i suppose they have to put safeguards against you knocking it into drive while not "braking"

That's true too, just annoying that you can knock it into "N" without depressing the brake. I know, safety feature but I was not impressed when it happened to me once. Putting my foot down and the car was just sat there revving itself stupidly hahahahahahahahahahahaha

back to the saga - 3rd SEAT was Ibiza Cupra 1.8t with only 6k on the clock in Emocion Red. The theory was a 3 door would not get pinched as a getaway car!! plus I did prefer having Cupra on my car rather that FR. Nice car lovely, to drive but a step back from the Leon in terms of technology so the next move had to be to the new Ibiza Cupra the final one in the saga.

I had some doubts over the 1.4 compared to 1.8 but so far it seems comparable [B)]

Nice. You need to get more posts on other threads to get your post count up mate. I wanna see some damn pictures......... what a colour, really does catch the eye nicely.

Lol, wouldn't it be quicker to go say hi to a few people in the intro thread, or post in the general topics threads to get the posts up ;)

Hopefully there are pictures below:
