Hi guys,

New Exeo owner here and what can I say , very impressed!

I got the 2.0TDI 143 Sport model in black magic. First time I have owned a Seat and have been very impressed with the build quality, awesome engine and all the standard extras. Was on the brink of buying a 3 series but very glad I got the Exeo. Seems to turn more heads than a Beemer too!

It is because it is a "factory order" due to all the options being requested... these take between 12-16 weeks, but SEAT close down for almost all of August which will not help :(

I am hoping that they build the "special orders" first when they restart, so it will be one of the first down the production line when they start up again.... I am not that lucky:(

The dealer is going to call me in about 10 day's, as they should have a build date slot allocated.. this is usually notified on the system within 10 days of order, which was last Saturday...

One tip: have the car lowered appr. 30mm and you will be even more surprised!

Had my Exeo (Style) lowered last Friday with 30mm using Eibach springs. The car is more stable now without any loss of comfort.

It looks better also.

Does lowering it really make that much difference? Mine is the SE Lux 170 and i think it handles like its on rails as it is. I think SEAT have done a wonderful job on improving the Audi suspension, if the 30mm improves it even more well i dont know what to say [B)]

Is the Sport model lowered much more than the standard one? Seems quite low. The handling is really good on my Sport

The difference is not when driving in a straight line on the road, but when you're making a turn. Especially on higher speeds. ;)
The car is much more stable due to the shorter springs without getting less comfortable. I still have the original shock absorbers which will guarantee the comfortness of the Exeo.

I understand the facts of the matter i used to race (for fun) my own cars a few years ago so i know what lowering a car can mean although i sacrificed comfort for cornering capability as i lowered my stuff around 60mm. Im just surprised at how much better the Exeo can be over standard as im impressed with my handling.

Almost excited now :) I have my estimated build date...

Build date - week 39 which is 20th September, Estimated delivery - week 43 which is 18th October, so around when I expected seeing they are shut down for August...

What I am disappointed about is the Dealer has not told me this information.... I was told when I ordered the car he would let me know within 10 days... no call or email... I emailed him on Monday.. still no reply, even though I also called him Monday and know he is there..

So,I spoke to SEAT yesterday, they confirmed the exact car, colour, and options ordered, which appear correct, and gave me the dates... I mentioned that the dealer was supposed to do this, but will not respond to my messages, she said I can complain if I wish... but,

I am waiting for the dealer now, just to see if he will let me know before the car arrives as he promised... I will then let him have it!

He was all over me during my enquiries, and up until the deposit was paid, now nothing.... I was initially impressed, but that is fast going down hill.... I will not name and shame yet :)

I ordered on a Saturday, so the order went in on the Monday.. 19th July, he did state within 10 day's they get the build date... like you say his system show's it...

When I spoke to the nice young lady at SEAT all she did say customer care did not have access to this system, but she spoke to dealer support who gave her all the details... this was no problem for her...

At least I know when to expect it now :)

I must admit SEAT were awesome in dealing with my purchase - friendly staff and excellent communication, couldn't of asked for more. When I got a quote from SEAT insurance they were really helpful too so I decided to change from Tesco (who IMO are ****) to SEAT , and saved a load of £ too.

I bought mine through EMC car sales who got it from Bartletts (East Sussex) they told me the date almost instantly, it was also a special order because of the options.

However after telling me it would be ready for the 27 April, I checked up nearer the date and they said that they had said it was the 27 May. so not to impressed over all witht the Seat service.
especially when i recieved the car with no sat-nav disc or load net.

When I had my Leon it had the satnav disc missing... I think they have to order them when the car arrives, to prevent theft from the car, so they arrive by post.. I picked my Leon up on the Saturday, and the disc arrived on the Monday.. so not too bad.

I was impressed with my dealer at the start it was a no pressure sale, very laid back etc but they were quite poor in dealing with niggles after i bought it and that spoilt my expereince slightly.

The sat nav disc for my Altea was also not present with the car on delivey, so i'd concur with te comment regarding it not being with the car to prevent theft. Again, came in the post a week or so later.
