I wasn't entirely satisfied with the twin 3-inch tailpiece I fitted when I first got the new Leon so decided to splash out a bit!
Just paid a visit to the Fife Performance Autocentre and had a chat to see what they could do for me. Decided to replace the entire back section including silencers with a bespoke specially made stainless steel unit with single 4 inch diameter double skin oval tailpiece!
Before we got it on the ramp I thought it would be a straight through exhaust - however, it's more like a TT with the rear silencer box fitted across the back end. This made it a little more complicated to 'design' but pretty sure they've come up with a cracking idea!.
Had a look at the options available for the tailpipe, but to be honest the single oval looks superb and fits very neatly in the bumper cut-out - in fact very similar to the Mk 1 Cupra R.
The new exhaust will have a deeper more rorty sound too - but nothing too outrageous - subtle and just noticeable.
They've told me it will take around 5 hours to build and fit so it's booked in on Thursday!. It's costing me £300 and has a lifetime guarantee - feck it you only live once!
I'll take a few pics once fitted and post them on the messageboard.
