Ok so had the new Formentor a week today.
things ive found so far that are not quite right.
the first one drives me nuts ,my ocd cannot let this go lol....steering wheel not level when driving on a straight road.....
the 2nd issue is sometimes when i get in the car and drive i go to adjust the volume on the radio and it will not adjust at all if i press the speak button on the steering wheel a couple of times i can then do it ,i think it's something to do with the phone connected to android auto on wifi.
any ideas ?
as for the steering wheel im awaiting the leasing options to get back to me.

Can’t speak to the second issue but the first sounds like either the steering wheel is misaligned on the column spline (assuming they still use splines) or the car needs a four-wheel alignment check.

2nd new car in a row with the same issue ,i had to have the beemer in with the same thing. (Wheel off centre)

ok local tyre service says need to go to an ADAS centre ......none near me ,awaiting supplying dealers DM keith york to get back to me.
That'll be the DM Keith franchise that when I bought my ex-demo from them in March (dealer pricipal's car apparently) only had one key (he still had the other at home and was "away down south") so the second had to be posted to me (I live in Bucks), had no handbook in it (one was posted on later), wasn't registered for Cupra Care (had to get SEAT customer care to sort that one), and where the boot light doesn't work and when I popped it out there's no wiring attached - I've not bothered with going any further with that, it's no big thing. Maybe at next years service if I find it to be a noticeable pain over this winter. And despite me giving them 2 weeks notice of when I was picking it up, the cars wasn't ready when I got there and I was directed to the local Tesco to hang around for an hour while they sorted it out and fitted the spacesaver I'd ordered as an extra. Compare and contrast with past experiences at Audi and Toyota.

Hello, I am new here, I did create a new thread but I could see this one….

I took delivery of a new formentor V1 1.5tsi a couple of weeks ago (yes I would have preferred a V2 however money is an object)

I had seen them advertised and looked at them and thought they looked really smart, I’ve had fast cars before and rubbish mpg but now I’ve got two kids I needed something comfortable and looked aggressive but not too slow and this seemed to fit the bill however…..

I got this on September 30th and seemed ok a first but soon became apparent that the steering wheel didn’t look as though it was on straight and when driving on a straight road I would have to hold the steering wheel slightly to the right to get it to stay straight otherwise if the steering wheel is centre the car seems to veer towards the left…

I have also had only 3 days into owning it the warning light come on and ‘call sos’ message along with cracklings behind the infotainment console only to be told that CUPRA need to release a software update with no expected time known and I just have to live with it intermittently coming on.

Other issues include the collision warning going off for no reason and the lane assist which could be linked to the steering…..

It just feels like the car was released before it was ready… and even the V1 isn’t a cheap motor…
Has anyone else had similar

sorry that your car is like that .ive just learnt to live the steering tbh. its not way out prob abut 3 degrees or so, on certain roads camber depending its level more often not though. ive had parking sensors come on when in traffic at lights ect also when turning right into a street all a bit strange tbh car drives ok though and is quite nippy when i tried my first launch .4.39 on dragy not as good on fuel as my last beemer though and a lot less power and torque, hopefully will improve a bit although i never got it for economy it just surprised me how poor it is on stop start journeys in town .650 miles in and 5 weeks.

Coming from an Octavia vRS to a Formentor, I would always experience your 2nd issue. The volume wouldn’t increase for streaming music via CarPlay but only under certain scenarios. The fix was selecting radio, turn up the volume, switch back to the phone and it would work.
Not sure that helps but maybe a VAG system bug?

That's the snazzy VAG tracking equipment with board. Exciting stuff. Why its not a good idea to get a cracked windscreen else it has to go in for full calibration if the lane assist camera is refitted. Steering wheel not on straight if removed and put back on incorrectly might tick the boxes. 4 wheel alignment and they are suppose to be put on the equipment although some tyre places get round it setting the front wheels at dead forward so I've read,

this car is full of problems. got delivery of one in august and in September it was in the shop due to around 14 issues from fabrication.
They cant fix most of them because of infotainment issues which seat/cupra are aware of and they are working on either a fix or changing the system altogether.
My biggest problem with it now is the 1.4 petrol motor being very loud for a petrol engine and when it's on (i mainly drive on electric) there is a powerful steering wheel vibration. from the service they say it's normal which i don't believe for a second.
Anyone else experiencing steering wheel vibration?

The only time my steering wheel vibrates is when the lane assist kicks in

That's what I thought.. Maybe it's a difference between engines but still, it shouldn't vibrate

Might be a long shot, but have you checked if the suspension blocks are still fitted? They would normally be removed at PDI but sometimes get missed.

On that note, I’ve noticed on occasion my suspension is quite squeaky, at least at lower speeds where it’s audible… never thought to check this until now.

They checked a bunch of things so far, including underneath stuff... So I presume that they checked that as well. They even changed the wheels to 19's and different tires. They still say it's normal to vibrate, "because that's how the car is built". Also the engine is so noisy.. like a tractor.. or a diesel. My guess is that the engine is not correctly fixed in place and it sends out vibrations everywhere.
Twice in the shop for 8 and 5 days. since 16th of August.
I regret buying this car and unfortunately i cant give it back

Added a youtube of how my engine sounds... tractor + that sound like there is a phone ringing or idk what it is

and a picture of how it gets stuck when I lock the car.

That noise is correct for a four cylinder engine that has been taken out of its comfort zone those fast clicks are each cylinder opening and closing and they sound on time and healthy they are In time and opening correctly. The vibration your experiencing is not right though there should be little vibration from the engine felt in the car or through the tyres. Normally engine vibrations are caused by loose engine mounts - damaged engine mount rubbers incorrectly seated engine or faulty drive/gearbox torque conversion unit.

Suspension system still having its shipping stops on the upper portion of front springs is a rare one but does happen!.

My four cylinder hybrid formentor sounds the same and worse when the engine is under load with the battery rengen active with the petrol engine turning into a generator and just revving itself up.

Once I am in the cabin and driving even if I hoof it I get little engine noise leaked into the cabin and no vibrations and I've thrown it into some bends hard.

I've had the odd squeak on a full lock to the left or right while turning from the suspension, I think from looking at it due to the way its set up to handle the increased weight it has supports that have little to no movement and until they wear themselves to where they want to sit the noise will remain. I have however had no noise from the brakes etc.

how about the horn sound that you can hear along with the engine? you can hear it twice on the video, comes and goes. that's coming from the car as well, not the outside. i dont know what that is
