hi all, found the site on a search of google,

my names luke, and i have just got a 2001 seat leon cupra,

it has a few issues that i will be working through to get it running/performing properly,

are there any common problems with these i should be aware of?

the list of problems i have noticed so far(had the car 24hrs now)

speedo dont work(rev counter/temp fuel gauge do)
it's been de-cat'ed but they never fitted the 2nd lambda and is now bringing up management light,(have bought a cat/downpipe with lambdas off ebay to fit)
turbo/downpipe is leeking(sounds like a fart), have ordered new gasket to fit with the new cat
the fuel gauge is REALLY sensative, every corner or bump it goes down and where the fuel lvl is lower now it keeps beeping and telling me no fuel, i'm guessing the contacts on the fuel sender have warn and it's moving too easy?

any input on these faults would be great,


it has a few mods, eibach coilovers,
18" audi alloys(need a refurb)
was told(and can see it in paperwork) it has a milltek exhaust but looking under it, it looks to be mild steel, so doubtfull,
it has a 4 bar fpr,
was told it has a k04 and a stage 2 map, running 238bhp?
how can i tell if it's a k04 or k03? i'm new to the vag group so this will be a steep learning curve,

Thanks guys. Fitted the gasket along with cat and both lambdas. Stopped part of the blow. Seems the main blow is before down pipe.

The locking problem is broken barrel(waiting on repair kit)

still not sure on speedo

No. Im not sure. Also found recipt for the remap. Its a revvo stage 2? Are these any good?

I have revo on mine . Very happy with it. I would think your k04 is a 001. More realistic figures but still not 100% sure what a 001 should produce.

I hate to sound like a right noob but is there anything that will tell me? I used to own jap turbos and use t25/t28 etc and they had a plate on there but is it the same as I couldnt see anything on this 1 when I did gasket

That is a good question . I've never had to look myself. Have a search on here for ' identifying turbos ' maybe something will come up. Figures you have given are right in the range of a k03s.
Do you not have any paper work for the changed turbo? I'm sure your aware a k04 is not standard on a Cupra .

No paperwork for that. Only the 4 bar fpr and remap. Coilovers, Brake upgrades and exhaust. A friend of mine says it looks like a k04 but he could only see from the top. So dunno how accurate he is.

4 bar is needed for the stage 2. K04-001 I believe is a k03s shell as they bolt straight on . K04 ( like on the lcr's ) won't fit your manifold etc......
Best thing is get your posts up to 15. You can then put pics up. Many on here will then be able to tell you what turbo you got.
